My oil pressure idles 35-45 between 170-182 degrees on my peterbilt. I get 65-70 psi at optimum temps and rpm’s 1500-1750rpm. If you got a bad oil pump you’ll know because it will show a warning light on the dash and low oil pressure. Fyi
hey sir, GM and Ford loves oil pressure gauge in their pickup truck, I am more familiar with BMW and Mopar which they use oil temp quite often. which gauge is better if I tow a lot? To be honest, I don't see the benefit of oil pressure gauge, it will only act abnormal when my engine is going down. Oil temp gauge can prevent potential overheat which i think it's a better gauge.
My oil pressure has gone from 4o to 65 now it's from 65 and it's creeping up on 80 I can't find one video that's not about the oil pressure sensor is anybody have any idea what it could be besides the oil pressure sensor please help
my Suburban 2012 reaches full limit with no chkeck ingine light not on is the oil sensor need to be replaced isn't supposed to give an error code to the ECU thanks in advance
@@timmay2k I stopped using the 10W 30. Its what was in the truck to begin with, though the newer volvo engines are coming from the factory that way. Also, my uptick in oil pressure was from a faulty oil pressure sensor. Imagine that.
@@maxenra I’m thinking I have a faulty gauge as well. I’ve had this truck 2.5 years and oil pressure oddly high 70 is normal for me. Haven’t blown and seals or gaskets so thinking more like hoping just faulty
@@tips4truckers252 oh ok...as long i can make not less then 30 psi ITS ok..but how if my rpm car let say about 8000rpm...then i just have to increase the pressure right sir?
@@the_car_guy5915 Yeah... when you run too high on oil pressure you blow out oil seals and then you don't have any oil pressure because you don't have any oil.
