HIGH ON FIRE - 'Cometh The Storm' - Album Review - THE METAL TRIS 

It's absolutely brilliant isn't it. A total banger of epic proportions haha! I really love the track and it makes me want to listen to the whole album over and over again. I've got a great little chat with Jeff from the band if you might be a fan of that. I reckon I'll give it another spin today!

I couldn't agree more! He really is one of the best and I think has such an iconic style to him as well. I was curious to see what it might sound like but in all honesty it just sounds like they haven't missed a beat. For me as well, there was a hint of Snakes For The Divine on here too which is my favourite HoF record so definitely one to give a spin! thanks for checking out the video and I am editing my interview with Jeff Matz as we speak!

Oh that's awesome that you checked out Slimelord! I love that band, have you listened to Cryptic Shift before? I think that you would really enjoy Cryptic Shift as well - they have recently signed to Metal Blade so I believe that there's a MB debut on the way here. Perhaps this year it might see the light of day. Yeah man, I get what you mean - I think if anything with age I have fallen even more in love with High on Fire in all honesty. Snakes for The Divine was definitely a favourite of mine and I really enjoyed Luminiferous as well - Cometh the Storm is a great one and has actually been one that I have been playing a lot when I am not sure what to put on you know? Just seems to work!

@@TheMetalTris Have not listened to Cryptic Shift but will for sure check them out. I listen to a lot of new releases but it does take some doing to get me to give an LP another spin. I'm actually kind of envious of how much joy you get from many new releases. I'm open minded and I put the work in but again it takes a lot for me to give a 4 out of 5 skull rating. I'd say about a dozen or so LPs stick with me per year. I still feel it is worth it though since those LPs keep me inspired to check out live music and stay connected to the human species. Heh! I'm going to see Atoll, Xoth, and Atrae Bilis at a small club in Santa Cruz on Monday. I live for that shit really.

No leaks here I'm afraid just promos that are watermarked. I'll be honest, I can't stand leaks. It's someone's hard work and passion - not to mention livelihood so sadly no deal! Not long until the record is out though!

@@SaraBourbonNight I wouldn't say that's me being a hypocrite though? I'm trying to keep the integrity of the release intact and promos are sent out specifically for the reason of promotion of the band / album and whatever it might be that they're doing around it. Yes I might have heard it early but only so that I can put together an opinion of it and also for research purposes with interviews too. I would happily wait if I wasn't going to feature the artist.
