Pretty much. In 8 plus years we have NEVER.... EVER sent a DOA alternator. EVER. If your statement is what you took away from this video, i certainly wish you the best luck in life.
@@mechmanalternators I call cap on that. Not a single bad out of box? Not a single one? Not a chance in hell that’s true. Every mechanical and electrical device has the potential of going bad. This is like ford saying not a single vehicle we sold never had a defect. It’s simple not possible unless you only sold 100 units in 8 years.
@@BrianWaller-qe7gr We test every single alternator 3 times on the dyno. Initial test, overload/heated test, re-test to spec load. After that its continuity checked/verified, build sheet is signed off and then off to packaging. These aren't your 40-dollar ULTIMA, CARQUEST, DURALAST parts store alternators. The only way these would be DOA would be if they were dropped, hooked up backwards or positive arced off the case with a ground already present. We know exactly what to look for on the alternator if any of those have been done.
Also my mechman alternator was fine then died. An ase certified technician verified alternator is bad Mechman….user error you did something wrong to cause it to die
We can agree to that somewhat, but the shop or expert needs to be vetted as reputable, not just the "cheapest". Many times we have the budget mindset customers contact us and long story short they wished they'd just spent the extra money upfront to have it done the first time, the last time, the only time. :(
This is a man fed up with the idiocy of RU-vid mechanics. Not to say there is anything wrong with learning off of RU-vid. I watched thousands of videos to learn to change parts out but i have a little common sense.
Tony and mechman is definitely top knotch when it comes to customer service. I been debating on which size and which company to go with and I for sure know I'll be purchasing my 320A alternator from mechman for my 5th gen Ram 1500. Customer service is a big deal along with high quality products and mechman has both those box's checked for sure.
So when I receive my 370 amp I ordered from down for sound I should hook it up in my 2015 Silverado 1500 exactly like you did in the one video? Should I use more grounds with it if I'm planning on upgrading more audio someday? Should I fuse the positive wire if I'm scared even though I'm going to be using 0 gauge ofc wire?
I mean, we include instructions with the alternator for a reason. All FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS can be amazingly found in the FAQ section on www.mechman.com 😉
I picked up a whine after switching alt to a mechman alt. The issue was that when I reconnected the battery cables after installing terminals weren't all the way tight. After snugging up the battery cables whine was gone. Volt guage accurate is great tip. I have one on radio one on sniper and one on dash they all read a bit different
I don't know what type of comments RU-vidrs make but I do know how stupid can be and I apologize for all of us who greatly appreciate the videos and our quality alternators. It really is sad to see these topnotch channels feel the need to address negative comments at the beginning of your videos. There is a shitload of us who care and want you to know we feel your frustration. Keep on trucking brother
Hi I purchased a 270amp alternator from mechman alternator for my 95 F350 7.5L and everything was working fine and next thing I know it was sparking never used the warranty for it I’ve reach out to the company and they told me they don’t have parts for it to fix it they told me to buy a new one I purchased a G and they said to buy a S alternator do you know why that is I’m confused cause I paid over $598 for it any info you provide would be highly appreciated thanks
It's because the G series Ford alternators are highly out dated. Just use the RGA tab on the website to send yours in for a 30% discount off a MUCH better updated version.
I know that i am a little late to the party here, but i recently ordered one of your alternators for my old 1997 suburban k1500. If anything happens, or i make a dumb mistake, i know who i am gonna call. Thank you sir.
For as much as a mechman alt cost it should come with free install 😆 jk . Quality control and quality material ain't gonna be free or less than stock for sure .
With costs of everything going up we still try to offer a reasonably priced product with 0 deduction in quality. We'll most likely never be as cheap as the "guy in the garage" or the 10million different color alternator guy, but we also can offer more confidence in a purchase, warranty and reliability.
