Rocket Details: MAC Performance Black Fly 3".
Weight (dry): 69 oz.
MMT: 38 mm.
Material: Canvas Phenolic.
Nosecone: Wildman 3" FWFG.
Electronics: PICO AA1 accelerometer & Eggtimer Quark. (2x) 7.4v lipo.
Charges: Drogue - 0.8 gram primary 1gram backup. Main - 1.5 gram
Parachutes: Drogue - 18" highspeed drogue. Main - 48" TopFlight X-form.
Motor Retention: Aeropack 38mm.
L2 Flight: 4/17/21. Aerotech J420 R (38/720) - 5,731'

Back in 1998 I got both my cert 1 and 2 in the same day. I studied and passed my cert 2 test first then on launched day I flew both my 1 and 2 rockets. No fiberglass, no electronics and no software. I flew a Kosdon I motor and a Kosdon J motor. I never got to finish my cert 3 rocket, I was 19 and couldn’t afford to finish the project at the time. If anyone is going to do their 1 and 2 flights don’t over think it. Cheers

Hey Mindofwij, Great video! I'm building the 3" Blackfly right now and wanting to know the mfg brand and size of your drogue and the size of your Top Flight chute? Also, did you use a GPS on the flight, if so, how did you mount it? I'm debuting on whether to leave the stock lenght or stretch the airframe 6". Please advise. Thx

Looks like you stretched the 3" Balckfly. What is the lenght of the upper airframe?

Could this 3” fly on a g on a single deployment? Looking for a cert 1 rocket but want to test it out on a G79 prior to going for cert.

I would not fly this rocket on a G motor. It’s a heavy rocket because of the nose weight it requires. I did my L1 with a Madcow Sport X. I flew the sport x on G motors a lot! There’s some vids on my channel👍
