I agree that for corporate workwear from a contemporary brand, the cut and fabric quality of Theory is unsurpassed! You can save money on their garments by shopping at their US outlets and buying pre-owned on websites like the Real Real. I owned a pair of Joseph faux leather pants years ago and the fit and quality was amazing. The IRO Asheville leather jacket has been on my wishlist for years because the fit and quality is unsurpassed!
Great brands that you don’t always hear about. I love Vince and I am intrigued by the others mentioned. Exciting to watch you grow. I remember when you were at 800. Keep up the great content!
Love this video!! I was looking for more mid range pieces to transition my wardrobe to be more professional / work friendly. Love that these brands offer pieces that are quality and thus making them very versatile. One of my biggest anxieties when it comes to building a work wardrobe is needing a whole separate section to my day to day wardrobe. With that said I would LOVE to see you post a video on interview outfits or everyday work wardrobe!
I really do like the aesthetics of COS but I find the quality actually very poor, based on my personal experience of many items I bought there. I have had to have the hemlines of not one or two but several tops, blazers, a dress, fixed because the seam was so poorly stiched it unraveled. Most of their clothes are not even lined, because they are made as cheaply as possible. COS is actually part of the H&M group.
I don't know why but every time I see one of your videos I get the urge to buy something luxurious... I hope Saint Laurent and Dior will send you some freebies to compensate for my spending ;)
All of these recommendations are super on point- I made a list of brands that you've shown in your "fall/spring outfits" type videos...and of the brands I listed the ones you picked are DEFINITELY ones I went and invested in. I bought some theory trousers during the sale season and although I had to get them tailored to fit, they are 100% going to stay in my wardrobe forever. Great quality, and great fit. A true basic thats worth it. I loved the examples you showed from Joseph, I'm going to check them out as well!
Love all of your recommendations! Are you familiar with Claudie Pierlot? Owned by the same company as Sandro and Maje, actually my favourite of the three 😊
Hey Liza, for me Claudie Pierlot is the most romantic and playful brand so it does not meet my personal taste so much and I can´t really say anything about the quality!
Excellent recommendations and absolutely adore your Rixo dress, which has tempted to find a Rixo dress this summer. It’s great to find content that is contributing to a more thought out and sustainable approach to shopping 🛍.
I've been looking to upgrade the quality of my wardrobe. This video is really going to help me narrow down a few designers in my meager price range. I took notes! Thank you for your thoughtful content.
I live for your 80s hair! Looking very cute! And so nicely done eye browns! So good! Joseph rocks! Very good brand, very good quality. Theory love the brand, they have menswear though finally and - such a nice bags they do. And Jacquemus oh he's definitely contemporary designer I would say. He's a designer of his time. And... I know he will drop prices of his items to be more affordable so he decided to also cut usage of fabrics to 3-4 different types in his collections to be able to deliver better prices for us. Smart and sustainable too :) Iro is also one of those I like especially womenswear. Though they do menswear also quite recently but not as the same feeling, quite similar to Mens Sandro. They did this nice collection with Anja Rubik a few years ago. Best and much love to you Dear, Bollo x
Hi Bollo, thank you for your comment! I agree with IRO, theire womens wear is kind of more unique than the mens line. Jacquemus is definately more contemporary but I also love his modern takes on suits! 💖
Love this topic but most importantly is the very detailed explanation of WHY you like each brand, the quality to price ratio, the fabrication comparisons, fit, etc. THAT is valuable & helpful. Thank you. Would love to hear this same comparison to higher end, high street brands and even to higher end collections within high street brands, like the Conscious Collection at H&M, for example. For someone just starting to transition their wardrobe to fewer but better pieces, on a more limited budget but who still needs to dress well for work during the transition. I guess how to buy the best quality & best modern but classic pieces as you slowly transition to a smaller, very high quality wardrobe. Especially since quality is sadly & increasingly NOT related to price or brand. I appreciate your going into great detail about the quality of the garments. 👏😃👍
Thank you for a very good sum up of good quality brands, I really like the design aesthetic of these brands you mentioned and need to keep in mind checking these especially, in the future. I also like Toteme.
Ciao Evelyn, I was finally able to watch your video tonight 😊 I will most definitely check out the brands you suggested! Do you usually buy the items from the website or from places like Net-a-Porter or My Theresa? I love your dress! And I love the pink color on you, it is very flattering. Have a wonderful week 😘 PS: I loooooove your cat! He's adorable and so sweet....you can just tell he's (or is it a she) a fashionista 😍 I love pets and I actually have two doggies. Ciao 🤗
Hi Chiara, thank you for watching! Well, it really depends on where I find the right items in my size and of course the best price:) I often shop at retailers because they tend to offer more discounts, but when I also really enjoy buying items in the boutiques because the experience is more special💖 Regarding my cat: They are both brothers:D I do love dogs, too though!
@@thegeekischic Thank you Evelyn! I pretty much do the same, and as you said the boutique experience is definitely worth it! As a matter of fact at the end of February I will visit one of my best friends in Milan and I already planned a stroll in Via Monte Napoleone ❤️ I already have a few ideas on my mind ie Dior, so we shall see, also because the main purpose of my trip is to attend a workshop but oh well, shopping is already on my mind 😍 Have a good week! Ciao 😘
Totally agree with your mid range designer picks. Question, I wear a size 8 Theory and Vince. What size would I wear in the European brands you mentioned.
Hey Michelle, I also wear a size 8 in my Theory pants. Regarding vince it sometimes depends on the cut, so I am between a 6 and 8. Regarding the European brands I am always between a EU 36/38.
I hear you. Im now at the same moment as you described...going out of fast fashion and moving to brands like Maje, Ganni, etc. I love your youtube channel. Grüße aus Berlin. 🤗😘
Great recommendations. I really like Self-Portrait's classic design aesthetic as well . Ganni is another affordable brand that looks more expensive than it is. However, I haven't tried either of these in person since I live in Pakistan and it's hard to access all these clothes.
We like a lot of the same brands! I kept going yes at each one you mentioned. I don't have many pieces of designer clothing yet, as I spend most of that on shoes and bags. However, I'm slowly transitioning away from fast fashion towards higher quality pieces of clothing. Also, just curious whether you speak French as well? I'm trying to learn but I keep slacking.
Hey Nicky, I am glad you liked my video! Regarding your question, I learned Frensh in school but since I never speak the language I forgot most of it. I am able to understand a little but I can´t really make it through a decent conversation:)
I really love ur content and u r very inspiring for me. would u please consider filming a video about styling tips, I would love to consider ur tips in my wardrobe, thank u ❤️
Hi Nancy, thank you so much for your suggestion, it is noted! I did film two "outfit"-videos where I show my favorite fall/winter looks and a couple of workwear looks, in case you haven´t seen them yet!💖 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SidpVmh4OcI.html
I love the recommendations. Thanks Jacquemus on SALE IRO on SALE (I scored a few things) My head🤯 My wallet 😭 😂 My recommendation check out Oak and Fort clothes and Polène for handbags
Hi Evelyn, thanks a lot for this inspirational video 🤗 And also could you make a video about basic black and white t-shirts? Where should we buy high quality basic and oversize cut basic t-shirts? How should we invest to basic summer items? And I also would like to learn your suggestions about jeans. Which brands can satisfy our needs in terms of quality and versatility ? Maybe these can be different contents for your next videos and they could help us a lot to be asmarter consumers when we think of the most basic items.😊😊
Hi dear, thank you so much for all your brilliant ideas! They are definately noted and I am planning to make more videos about spring/summer staples once the temperatures start to rise again:) In the meantime, I filmed two similiar videos last year, so maybe you´ll want to check these out, too: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SQLb0P6ZiAM.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NgfYxCVPpts.html
