A good theory, thats why Aerois is important to Caelus Starbane But as far as I know the other Aeroian gods are Syaska's (idk either how to write her name) children, but still the theory holds due to Helios mentioning in conversation "the Titans you call gods..." giving an idea that there are more out there in the Astral Space

@@Ryquard1 I believe maybe the gods come from other world's that's why they are more like warrior they were basically generals and why so many different races fled to aerois I don't think the genasi city was an accident but more they were the last of their kind and teleported their greatest minds also they banned planar travel because hadar can travel through

Mark mentioned either the session he got it or the session after that it interacts with one of Lucius' abilities to spend sorcery points to transform effects from one energy type to another. Essentially, say someone cast a fireball he could spend points to convert it to cold or acid and then absorb it.

@@AGrumpyPanda I remember. But n this video he said it can ONLY absorb acid and cold. And mark gets super excited about his players using the items he created effectively and I'm sure he would have correct him and said but you can use your sorcery points to change it so that he could. Mark expects you to know the rules, but hes not gonna expect you to know exactly how to use something that he has created especially since he hasn't used it before.

@@ltmorningwood2146 Your original point was that he should change it based on the rarity of cold and acid, and I countered with the point that with Lucius, technically speaking any time they encounter energy damage they can be encountering cold or acid damage, at Lucius' discretion. Also, on the point of Elemental Bane I believe the spell actually has to be a direct damage effect, so dichromancy wouldn't have applied to that spell. Addendum: He may have stated that it's a higher level ability that Lucius doesn't have yet, but will in the future.

@@AGrumpyPanda while that is the original point yes. The whole thing is this. Would Lucius rather keep his sorcery points to gain another spell slot/twin a spell and what not, effectively increasing his combat effectiveness. Or take damage away from either tank. Which albeit can be useful in some scenarios and depends on which way lady luck is swinging that day. So it comes to this. Effectively have more spells to damage, stun, incapacitate in any form/crowd control, cast cure wounds. Or store a spell with your sorcery points. (Dont get me wrong it makes you watch what your spending more which is great and can eat away at your sorcery points so that you have less for the boss room and is a great way for mark to make character decisions in combat matter more) buuuut this is all made not useless but not optimal if the item he created cant actually absorb those things. Like I said before Mark is very helpful (you saw this at the beginning of this campaign when he first started learning his class, dyechromancy, with mark reminding him how it works. And reminding him of tweaks he made and whatnot or correcting an issue like when they were going off character level + charisma mod for dyechromancy damage not spell level) Nkw this could be Mark not remembering and him not reading his item description or not being able to fully comprehend it (let's be honest he probably hasnt read it fully.) The point is I do not see mark (especially with a new item he created himself) just brushing off what he tried to do without giving advice and how to properly use it. That's not Mark. As pointed out above. And if that's the case about dyechromancy then it shouldnt work with armor of Agethis(?) Is that how you spell it lol

Absolutely spot on observations. Ive been watching from the beginning and I cringe every single episode for exactly the reasons you stated above. Even the ones playing supposed warriors act like frightened children. They dwell on obviously inconsequential things and ignore important ones. They stumble around and through this world that Mark made and rely solely on him. Highly frustrating to watch. I keep waiting to see who the next character is to die...

Yeah, sadly I have to agree, I know this comment was left 4 years ago, but honestly without the DM they wouldn't have a clue and they ask too many questions! discuss and debate too much and there is no strategic planning, no thorough exploration. If this was a video game, you would explore everywhere, pick up anything of worth before going into the Level Boss battle, so you are well-prepared, but they have a tendency to blunder in and hope for the best, I know its D & D and you can't really plan ... because it depends on dice rolls, but it is just a matter of time before someone else dies or one of the characters dies again! Well, I haven't seen the next episode yet, maybe they do alright and sail through this battle, but I am waiting for one of the characters to die again. That being said, as much as love the DMs world building and running of the game, he is very good, no question, I feel sometimes he makes these fights a little OP ... ! But I will see what happens next episode. I still really enjoy watching them though.

Both are playing D&D and both are pretty professional at what they do, so that's not surprising hahaha. As well as the fact that critical role was a big inspiration for Mark back in the day

I'll add that Mark and Matt are friends. But no. The two shows arent that similer. The Mighty 9 think they are better than they are. The Storm Chasers are sure they suck and don't horribly. There are similer aspects. But Different theme.

Welcome friend! I actually started watching High Rollers first, and then started watching Crit Role when they started campaign 2. I have been listening to campaign 1 and have nearly completed it, though.

What you mean? Completely different setting and characters and a very different group dynamic, both in character and out of character. Highrollers has a much more homegamey and chiller vibe, which I really like. At least to me, when watching Crit Role, I feel like I'm just watching a game like I would watch a tv series or a movie, which is fine and I like Crit Role, but when watching Highrollers I feel closer to it, as if I was in the table myself. Maybe that's a bad explanation, but it's hard to put that feeling into words.

They aren't similar at all lol. A group of people playing dnd and that's where the similarities end. Very cool accents, from the strange, mystical planet known as Britain 🙄
