@@1WAYNEUzu Ulric is also acknowledged and given praise by the Cult of Sigmar as Ulric was Sigmar's God and patron, and Ulric's cult is strong enough to rival Sigmar's, even violating national policy to protect "the children of Ulric" who are basically werewolves. Then there Taal, for whome Talabecland is named and is patron god of, Morr is more widespread than sigmar, and Tilia and Eatallia have best war goddess.

@@codyraugh6599 there is also Verena which has a temple library in every city and keeps all imperial records. Also at age 10 every child becomes an adult by being read it's doom by a priest of Morr. And don't forget the priests of Shallya running all the big hospitals

Yeah if your new to the franchise its definitely confusing. So, Warhammer Fantasy is based on the original game called just Warhammer which takes place in the setting you are watching now, aka the Old World as the miniature battle game we are familiar with. Warhammer 40K came not to long after as the science fiction version of the tabletop. A few decades after Warhammer has been out, Games Workshop decided to retcon the Old World setting by replacing it with Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Lore wise basically the Old World entered into a cataclysmic war with the Chaos gods and lost. So the Age of Sigmar is high fantasy but still cruel and gritty Warhammer game but with all new models and factions. However, it seems that they are bringing back the Old World I think in models and again as a world you can play in for the tabletop (not to replace but as something people can do). I think partially because alot of fans like myself still love the Old World and there is a growing interest again thanks to the video games that use the setting and this game (the ttrpg) is also growing more and more popular.

"You didn't just read the whole rulebook, did you!" - well yeah, that's what I did! I was 11, and I was so fascinated with the idea of RPG that I just spent days reading through all three base books of DnD 3.0 to learn the entire system and be able to lay it down to my sister and a cousin

Shorter campaigns?!! The Enemy Within campaign spans five books. If they stick with the story it'll take them years to get through it in two-hour, weekly sessions.

While I am happy High Rollers are branching out to different systems, Warhammer Fantasy is a very fun option, I also hope that in the future, after they will get their money's worth from the paywalled content, they will release it fully, kind of what Dimension 20 did after a while, for some of their older campaigns 😛But yeah, fun stuff, stay awesome and for the algorithm!

First time watcher, really enjoyed the energy levels of the group. On a minor note though with opposed checks if the attacker has -1sl and the defender has -5sl, then the difference is +4sl to the attacker. Essentially if the defender's SL are below the attacker's it's good for the attacker, if it's higher then the attacker misses.

Good stuff. Currently running a sandbox game based on the Ubersreik source book in the Starter Box. It's a tricky system to get your head around. But once you do it can be a lot of fun. It does help if the players have a good understanding of their character's basic and advanced skills; as well as their talents, blessings, spells, and weapon and armour qualities. Definitely would have helped to remember the existence of the Consume Alcohol skill around the 50min mark. But that's not a dig, just a chuckle. I honestly really like seeing a group of professionals grapple with the system the way we did and learn it through doing it. Hope you stick with the campaign.

Good to see some of that Warhammer Fantasy goodness. Honestly it's a very underrated RPG system. That and the relative simplicity of the system and character creation actually makes it a very good first RPG. Also just personal taste, but for a first adventure I really think that The Mad Men of Gotheim is one of the best starts for introducing the game to new players. No spoilers, but it's a very tight timed adventure, that requires equal parts investigation, social interaction and roleplay, improvisation and combat. A lot of people seems to prefer starting a new group with a stand alone scenario, before doing the Enemy Within.

Using a vtt with macros like the sheets on roll20 makes it so much smoother for figuring out SL and stuff but playing in person is cool too.

In my exeperience, to full enjoy wfrp you need a Master who had time to widen his background knowledge, there's so much material. Realm of Sorcery for the magic, Tome of Salvation for the religions, Tome of Corruption for the chaos part. Just to start.
