@@raptor73921 no because you aren't the bass line of the band. Ur the tenor voice. And bass is a very important role. So no it's not that you need better tubas but you need to stop playing your euphonium so damn loud. It's one band one sound. You can't say stuff like this when it's not the case. Shut your mouth kid
Well that's because tubal arent meant for this stuff. It's meant for the body of all the music so tuba is one of the most important instrument in the band. Even more than yall
I played baritone for a little bit in marching band but they are extremely tiring to march with i switched from baritone to trumpet then i finnaly switched to drums
NOPE !!! THAT CIGARETTE I SMOKED IN HIGH SCHOOL. WAS. ON THE FLOOR LAUGHING. ITS ASS OFF !! IT SAID !! GUESS WHO WILL NEVER DO SHIT LIKE THAT !! I WAS LIKE FUCK YOU. !! OKKK. LOLLLLLL...
I WISH THEY WOULD LET ME PLAY LIKE THIS. IM LITERALLY THE ONLY MARCHING BARITONE IN OUR BAND, AND THEY WONT LET ME PLAY LOUD CAUSE OUR BAND IS "TOO SMALL" ................................it makes me very sad and mad at the same time lol. we don't even get to have a marching band cause of how bad my band director's band was 😐😑😐
a. baritones don’t resonate well if you blast like this b. they often get the 3rd or 5th of the chord which would make it unbalanced playing it at this volume c. play trombone if you want to play like this
@@charleshernandez1425 were very competitive so competitive in fact that I am only 3rd part in the jazz band and 2nd in symphonic when our wind ensemble was a opener of a music conference in Seattle. Now yet when I went uga camp in Georgia i beat out all 13 trombone players as a principal of the orchestra
@@blakehazen9857 hes definitely playing on a king baritone dude on his right is on a yamaha jsu plays on the exact same kings........that's a baby ass baritone😂🤦🏿♂️
@@viopaololumod8432 I remember they had an Asian 1st-2nd trumpet at SU And they had a white screamer there too, a few in the history actually Every race can bring smoke 💪
I personally don’t like this type of band sound. DCI pretty much has it right. I know it’s a historically and culturally enriched thing but I feel like there’s a difference between overplaying and playing loudly. Overextending your playing can put a limit on your future abilities, and it can teach a lot of bad habits.
There's a difference between show style and corps style. My students regularly do both. The way we play in the stands is different than our field show. Limiting oneself because of what other perceive to be the "proper way" is not how we roll. Music in the stands is allowing the flow of expression, music on the field is striving for perfection. Our crowd loves our support, on Fridays (we're ENCOURAGED to keep playing) our music on Saturdays is judged well as well. My point is that being one dimensional makes you very limited as a musician. I PERSONALLY get gigs from everywhere, NOLA Jazz band style, hip hop bands, philharmonia, recording sessions. Never limit yourself to one philosophical opinion, and convince yourself that it is indeed the RIGHT opinion. Be diverse, keep learning, and stay humble.
@@brasscamp1018 I don’t mind different performing styles... there’s just a difference between good technique and bad technique. You should know that as an experienced musician.
@@brasscamp1018 You know nothing about my taste in music or my experiences in different ensembles. Don’t try to preach to me about humbling myself, these people aren’t free of criticism just because they’re doing something in a different style. That’s like looking at two paintings and excluding one entirely from criticism just because it’s in a really specific sub-genre of art.
They must be a show band so they are meant to blast and they might go to A HBCU college so they blast either way if all depends on what university u go to
No i went to an hbcu. JSU to be exact. That splatting sounds comes from no lip control. Blasting, cranking, whatever term is preferred, is done by control. Not splatting or slurring into multiple notes before hitting the correct one.
All baritone players go through this phase learning how to crank. Tongue the note. Break these bad unacceptable habits asap. It will destroy your armister.
@@renandezm yea I understand now I never explained it correctly my fault I play tuba and I blast what I do is I firm up my lips and suck in my gut and I blow fast air I play pretty loud for a 3rd year tuba and our school plays in the Louisiana state championship for class 4A and so since band gets air time my director wants us to sound good but still blast I’m the only tuba in my band but mr Holmes wants me to go to southern for band lol but hope you and ur family has a nice holiday
