Claremont won the music caption that year in PSW. They also won Scholastic Concert World. Absolutely freakshow of greatness both front ensemble and battery. Absurdly aggressive as well.

I rember seeing this group live and being blown away! They received a standing ovation at finals. Made my groups back home in Texas watch this line for years.

Fact: my senpai, Gene Shinozaki, the world beatbox champion studied Claremont High School and he joined CHS drumline. He is totally amazing Cali boy! I really love him!

Mission Viejo 2001 indoor show “XII.” I’ve always looked up to Mike Jackson’s writing, but this show is some of his finest, most musical writing in my opinion. If I remember correctly, each colored banner represented 1 of 12 jurors, and the tempo increased a few BPM every banner drop for a total of 12 incremental tempo changes throughout the show. I was lucky enough to know these kids. They had so much heart, discipline and love for what they did. In my mind they won gold.
