"Nothing can come from nothing and you cannot destroy anything to nothingness..." You have probably heard this motto. And you probably believe it, because we all learned something called "conservation of energy" in high school. If the total energy of a system has to be conserved at all times, and the entire Universe is a system, then no energy in the Universe can come into existence out of nothing, can it? So energy is eternal and eternal? No, no... We now know beyond dispute that the Universe, at least as we know it, had a beginning. In that case... Could it be that the argument "Nothing can come from nothing" is a big lie? Let's take a look.
