To be fair it seemed like it was more like it was more about how everybody was having so much fun without him and feeling displaced. So not nessacerily romantic threat, but more being upset at feeling alienated from the group and this outsider (Ryan) almost taking his place. At least to me.

plotwist, troy is jealous of ryan cause he saw him and chad switch clothes and realized they were dating and now not only did he steal his best friend, but also his girlfriend, and plus he's the brother of his enemy, sharpay LOL. I can see why troy would be a bit annoyed of him :') but it's okay, ryan can be his brother in law, like they said.

@@LetsKei I have the extended edition for DVD too! I bought mine in Spain so the edition made it to other countries as well. If I remember correctly there's even a karaoke feature to sing along :D

omg the campiness is what's so cool about hsm2 and hsm3!!! Ryan, Sharpay and Troy are so camp and i love it. Troy's extraness is what makes his solo song so fun :) but i get why they'd find it odd since they didn't watch it as a kid, therefore aren't used to it. I never even thought it was over the top cause im used to it and plus, it's a musical, so i expect dramatic facial expressions.

I would argue scholarships & grants are not as easy to get as they seem, and often 1st generation college kids arent aware of them or even how to apply. Those grants are limited. Then, you have to fall into a very specific bracket & any assets (that aren't actively earning you money) can be seen as a reason you DONT get certain awards. Also work study is great, but its WORK, and you have less time to study and/or sleep in college than a non-working kid. Bottom line, college in America is ludicrously expensive for everyone (esp with rising interest rates & lack of student loan forgiveness) but it is more deeply felt by the working poor and lower middle class.

Here in the UK most schools start at 9. My school started at 8:40 and I had to take public transport but I could still usually afford to wake up just before 7 and still have time for a morning shower and breakfast at home before I headed out.

People have fake marriages for years and even have kids and I come from a background with arranged marriages, so yea people definitely can be in fake relationships for years and have made up breakups that make the headlines but that doesn't mean that's what happened here, they could very well have been true couples but I don't believe it tbh but it's just my opinion.

It was subtle for me when I was little. I just thought Chad hates dancing. I was ok, you don't have to. Then I was adult, I got it, and was, "huh, how about that? And people say there's no representation? Yeah right." It's there, just subtle and not blatant unlike now where it's very obvious and it hurts the movies story overall.

It was a DVD exclusive bonus so if you mostly watched it on TV that might be why you don't remember it!

most baseball bats are metal and even if it’s wooden that would hurt soo much if you got hit, that it’s probably not worth the risk when filming like the cost if someone got injured idk. like one of the first things you learn when you play baseball is to make sure there is no one behind or around you when you are swinging even just warming up. edit: also even if you just swung it wrong during the dance and like into yourself that would hurt, especially if it got your head

Yes, it was a deleted scene, I was gonna comment this too. I saw HSM2 a million times as a kid on Disney Channel and it was only when I purchased the movie on RU-vid a few years ago that I saw that number for the first time. Horrifying.

I know where I was too, but that’s because my sister, our friends, and I had a debut party since we were looking forward to it lol

I remember as well, but in a way that taught me a lesson at age 12 about wishing away time because this came out at the end of summer, maybe a week before I went back to school, and I remember just wishing my summer away waiting for its release. I specifically remember being in my living room with my friend so excited to watch this, and when it ended I loved it a lot but also felt sad because suddenly I realized my summer was gone. It’s putting too much anticipation into one event and forgetting about living in the moment. So random to get this lesson from HSM, but it will always stay with me.

to be fair, troy is somewhat at least self aware of hi place in the hierarchy, which is what he said to his dad in the beginning of them movie. He's aware he's in the working class and said he felt weird watching chad serve him. But his dad got into his head about taking opportunities, so i think that's why he stopped introducing them, cause he's cautious of his place in work and his dad even unintentionally told him to fend for himself in a way. Plus, Sharpay, who is in that level of class, told him that thing at dinner about not helping the work (aka chad), and I don't think Troy meant to, but i think that stuck to him a bit too. I think he knows he's just a kid and can't say too much, but also wants to take the opportunity. It's confusing for him. It's already a big deal for him to talk to these people and if it came off like he's trying to get a whole freaking team in on this, it'd be too much.
