Who was shocked? REAL HSM fans BEEN knowing this and we always gave credit and appreciated Drew's beautiful singing. Y'all who didn't know are late af and not real fans. Js what it is.
I've known since day 1 and I find this tribalism weird. It's HSM ... you sound like someone who was born while the movies were coming out and retroactively became a fan thru reruns
I was friends with Andrew back in the early 2000’s. I was happy that he made it to Hollywood and got his big break because he really wanted it badly back then. I know it wasn’t the way I’m sure he thought it would be but we were all still really proud of him! He always had an incredible voice and I’m glad he eventually became respected for it by the world!
Zac’s singing voice was under developed at the time so they blended their vocals. Drew’s voice is heard heavily in the first movie but in certain parts u can hear Zac’s voice. But Drew did do the concert so in the end it worked out
I believe Drew wrote on Get your head in the game, and sung the demo, and they felt no reason to discard it. Drew’s voice is very similar to Zacs so that also make it work out
They used drew's seeleys voice because kenny ortega didnt believe zac could sing the songs but zac was good for the character so they got one actor to be the character and another to sing for the character not every one person will be capable of doing both so you get two to do two different things
@@samanthadancelover they arent talking about the 2nd and 3rd film they are speaking of the first film and only doing the first lines and very last lines dont count those weren major nor difficult
Even when I was younger, the whole story of it being Drew and Zac’s voices “blended together” seemed kind of off to me. It was always clearly Drew singing 98% of Zac’s lines, with Zac throwing in words here and there in the first movie lol. I think the most Zac actually sings in the first movie is the intro to Breaking Free and then his voice changes to a whole other person after that 😅
I mean Disney did admit that High School Musical was suppose to be a One time DCOM when it became an unexpected smash hit that's when Disney expand upon it
I always taught that the music was made ahead of casting and that Drew's voice fits the range of the song and that Zac's voice is lower than the intended octave(?) (I dont know music terms)
Disney used to say their voices were blended. Really, Efron recorded like the first line of every song his character sang and Seeley took over from there. You can hear the shift so clearly.
He was talking about how he was 6 years younger than Vanessa, which he found weird... but in Another Cinderella Story he was 10-12 years older than Selena????? 🤨 *Also Zac does sing certain parts in the first one. You can hear the voice difference, especially in the Breaking Free performance.*
Yea Drew and Selena were 10 years apart, she was 16 and him 26 in that Cinderella film, which carried alot of controversy. Maybe there wouldnt be a HSM2 or 3 as Vanessa wasn't legal when the first one came out if she costarred with a 24yo as her love interest
Well they cast Monique Coleman who was in her Twenty's as the love interest for 15/16 Corbin Bleu 👀. Wasn't Selena underage in A Cinderella Story 2 ? If so Drew didn't have a issue with that 👀.
@@36MIKET but the relationship started when he was a minor . The casting people should've casted a young black girl not an adult & Trina shouldn't have auditioned .
I feel like everyone already knew this especially when they did the Live movie, however I don’t think he wasn’t Troy Bolton because he was older irl because he was cast as Selena Gomez’ love interest and she was only like 15, it never looked weird though so that can’t be it.
Real HSM fans already knew this and the reason Drew's voice was used was because Zack's voice couldn't hit the notes so for the next two movies they wrote songs for his vocal range.
Let's be real, Drew is handsome but, Zac is different kind of handsome, hot, and charisma, like the first time I watched HSM is a clip of Something New and Im immediately hook because of Zac's look . But the voice definitely Drew really made beautiful vocals in the first film
This is not new! I found out around the second movie that Zak did not sing in the first film and that it was Drew. Drew should have gotten more credit. He was regulated to the side and used for his voice. Disney has a record of using actors and then throwing them to the wolves. They need to stop that.
Wait until they find out that shah rukh khan doesn’t sing in any of the Bollywood movies either… It’s not that unheard of that they get someone else for singing, sometimes it’s as simple as them wanting a specific singing voice which the actor they want doesn’t have.
I knew this long time ago. Even tho hsm has been my favorite franchise. It always made me mad they'll choose looks over talent. Good thing Efron made sure work on his singing skills for two other movies
Unfortunately, that isn’t true. For continuity of the film, they used Drew’s singing voice for all sung parts. A bit disrespectful to both of them but the thing became a hit so it is what it is.
@@willybeama1 Zac is 100% singing the first line in Breaking Free, when he continues after Vanessa’s part it’s a different person (Drew). This happens in a few other parts too.
Drew was hurt but took it on the chin. All of us who know Drew were equally as shocked but the past is the past now. At least he was a part of something truly great.
