No graduation ceremony, no prom, no spring sports, no senior prank, no senior trip, no senior breakfasts, no practice graduation ceremonies, no graduation open houses, no senior skip day, no awards ceremony, no actual last day of high school. Not to be all emotional, but I didn’t get to say goodbye to my classmates or teachers in person. But, according to my parents, I’m not allowed to be upset because these things are superficial and because there are people dying. Just because I don’t have COVID-19 doesn’t mean I don’t feel its effects. Class of 2020 (both high school seniors and college seniors): WE ARE STRONG. WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS TOGETHER.
Sketchy Graduation isn’t just a party. Walking across that stage is a life milestone that we might never get to experience and even if we do it’s most likely going to be delayed or done differently. Give us time to grieve you might not see the importance of it but many of us do and to us it’s something we can never get back. This virus is affecting people in different ways and just cause some people have bigger problems doesn’t mean the little ones have to be invalidated.
Sketchy that’s ok I didn’t really want to go to prom this year anyway but I decided to just to have the experience and memory of it but now that I can’t I don’t care as much as others and the two times I went to homecoming I regretted wasting my time and money cause it was so boring but I enjoyed hanging out with my friends before which is the only reason I was excited for prom in the first place. For me the big thing is graduation. I’m glad I don’t have to go to school anymore believe me I want out and this year has been horrible from the start so I don’t really mind staying home I’m just sad that I’m most likely going to have to miss graduation and our senior walk out because of this.
Very true! This is a tough time for so many. Wishing all of you the very best as you navigate this unique moment in history and those who are living through it.
I’m class of 2020 and it really is heartbreaking that I’ve spent 13 years in academics doing class work, making friends, and getting excited to walk across the stage & proving to my family I kan do anything. And then covid took that from me. I’m hoping we get to at least physically graduate & they don’t just cancel it
@Sketchy if youre not a senior i dont think you can actually understand the affect this whole thing is having on us. Especially if you got to graduate or are going to without a pendemic going on which hopefully thats the case but.. Walking was a way to prove to my parents aswell and its not sad its a symbol or proof that ' hey mom and dad! Look at me im graduating im walking into the real world as an adult. I am stronger than you thought. I proved myself to you' type of thing. And its the experience of walking and going to prom etc that we want. Its having all of our hard work paid off type thing.
Sketchy you know, I both wanna & don’t wanna have a virtual graduation like that. It’d make is unique From all other classes, BUT at the same time, who wants to tell their future jobs they graduated on Minecraft or roblox?

So sorry your class, the class of 2020, has to go through this! We know this is a tough time. Do you very best to keep your head up and stay focused on preparing for the next chapter of your life. Make sure you're ready to make the most of the first steps you take towards the future. We believe in you guys!
Don’t worry this virus will pass and I’m thinking by end of may/ June time the restrictions will be lifted. I know there are lots of different talks about summer graduations but just remember the class of 2020 will be one that will stick out in history and it will be something to tell the kids and grandkids
LeylaLovesCats14 yea but it’s just to protect the people u know, the quarantine. Idek . Not fair for those graduating this yr. It’s just sad in general how many things will be cancelled and we gotta accept if they are 🙂. Oh well I mean more time at home , more time to eat and chill lol
it makes sense to keep not just students but the community safe, and though my grad and prom haven’t been cancelled officially yet it’s still sad to hear how other seniors have to move onto the next chapters of their lives without experiencing this traditional rite of high school every teenager looks forward to
My school cancelled completely because they said they’d have to start preparing for the next batch and really won’t have time to arrange those big events.
for my school they haven’t said anything about normal exams yet but for AP exams they’re letting us do it online at home, who knows if they may have to do the same for regular exams
Shannon that sucks I wouldn’t like to years in school just not to get what I deserve for my hard work. Why can’t they just do it after we’re done with quarantine?
Emily Faust lol idk if in the textbooks it’ll say seniors didn get to graduate but it’s assumed . Weird how they’re going to put in textbooks of history, what are all the things it would say ? 🤔
I agree. My prayers are for you and your future. Here is an ebook that can help guide you in your decision after graduation such as college opportunities. Go here www.amazon.com/dp/B0868WDJWW
At least those kids had some idea they were leaving forever. My school called off at 7:30pm on a thursday and we are never going back, so none of us knew it was our last day.
Our last day was Friday March 13th and we had no clue that would be our last day in high school. They closed schools Sunday evening. Now our classes officially ended yesterday and the pain still doesn’t get any better. We all lost much more than simple events as many people will say, we lost valuable time and everyday moments that can NEVER be given back to us
We initially closed in NY on a Friday for four days so we all thought we were coming back. But we haven’t. I didn’t say goodbye or thank any of my teachers
This really is heartbreaking. I graduated in 2006 and prom and the graduation ceremony was very special to me. I still remember prom like it was yesterday. That’s just terrible that these kids will miss a once in a lifetime moment
I think what sucks the most for me personally is that for many years, I got to see my cousins graduate from high school. I got to see their parents brag about their kids' accomplishments. As pitiful and petty as this may sound, graduation was supposed to be my moment to finally brag about something. My parents are not the prideful type, so they never saw the point in bragging about me since I didn't have to prove my worth, but I remember them telling me that they were going to make sure everyone knew about my successes when graduation came along. Dear Class of 2020, I am sorry that we won't be able to fully say goodbye to our teenage years.
I’m also class of 2020. And man...I’m so angry. I’m pissed. I’m hurt. I’m shocked. I feel robbed. We’ve worked so hard for so long. We’re missing so much. My heart hurts. Memories mean so much to me and now...there’s nothing I can do. Smh.
16BitOG Dude stop minimizing graduation you don’t know what we are experiencing right now. Let her express how she feels. It’s her right to feel angry. Heck I don’t even know you, but if I would guess you probably walked on the stage. You’ve gotten that satisfaction so stop judging us for feeling this way. You’ll never experienced it like we’ve had so just stop it and got too and we didn’t let’s leave it at that. We have the right to feel this way.
@@milio7490Way to judge dude. I didn't experience anything my senior year. Y'all are going through EXACTLY what I went through, and let me tell you back in my day if you wanted to meet up with someone you either walked to their house or called their house phone. At least y'all have the technology to stay connected. I'm saying 10 20 30 years later life goes on, it sucks but there are going to be more memories to come. Not everyone gets to experience everything, people miss out, it happens. This girl is acting like school is her life. How about getting a degree? Getting married? Starting a family? Buying your first house? Like c'mon, everyone HAS to go to school, so how important is something we're ALL forced to do? Not only that, most of you won't keep in touch with your friends after high school anyway. People go off to college out of state, move for better job opportunities, join the military. Eventually you'll have all new friends and forget everyone you went to school with. So yea, it sucks, but don't act like your 18 years of life on this planet is ruined because ' I DiDn'T WaLK AcrOSs THe StAgE' People are DYING. Oh boo hoo my prom... I'd take no prom over having a loved one pass away due to the virus, but hey that's just me 🤷🏾♂️
16BitOG According to the world population studies, approximately 108 billion people have lived on this planet. Assuming the average life span of all these people were 25, there has been 2.7 trillion years of life, if we multiply this by the amount of days in a year (365) there is a total of 985,500,000,000,000 days of life (985.5 trillion days). Not once in any of those days did anybody ask.

i think i feel worse for college/university seniors they might not have graduation imagine that! not being able to expirience graduation from university and going into adulthood or real life or your career and future 💔
March the 13th, 2020, 3:25 PM, before I walked out the door, I looked at my best friend and said "See you Monday", Monday never happened and I walked out that door for the last time without every knowing it
Pretty much the same story for me, same day. I wish I knew then that that day was my last time in my school as a senior, yesterday classes officially ended and the pain doesn’t get any better. We all deserve so much more than the hand we were dealt

I (an 8th grader) was supposed to be taking the DELF exam 2 days ago on April 1st, which I was really looking up to… I was also looking up to our last day of middle school, our last middle school field trip, the announcement of the students that will be accepted to take GCSEs next year (Since they've just recently added the GCSE system/curriculum to our school, they only accept the top/smart students), our summer plans, our MUN conferences, our debate competitions, our annual scout camping… And on top of all, I was excited to see the class of 2020 walk on that stage to graduate, because every year when a class graduates, our school band that is made up from various instruments plays some amazing pieces for them in honor for their graduation… (So I was basically at every school graduation ever, whether I knew someone that was graduating or not.) I also may not even be able to celebrate my birthday, since it's in 20 days. And there's like a 0.00% chance that this pandemic will be solved in just 20 days. Yes those things may not be as important as missing out on graduation at all, in fact not even close, but I was really looking forward to experiencing them all. Sending Prayers to the class of 2020, I can never imagine having to go through something this tough... Stay Strong 🧡 (By the way, DELF is like the TOEFL except for French, not English).
I feel you! I'm an 8th grader too and I'm missing out on all of our 8th grade activites and field trips, and I especially feel bad for those who failed testing last year because now they don't get the chance to make it up this year and get their electives for highschool. I never got to say a proper goodbye to everyone, and I was so excited for my last day of middle school. I really wish this never happened. 😔
School is so stupid lmao. All these kids work so hard to walk across a stage to get a stupid piece of paper. I had all Fs freshmen year and missed like 60 days had 2 letters sent home. Sophomore the same but dropped out half way in the year. Now i would be a junior and about to get my GED in like a week with pretty much no effort at all. Only stay in school if you want a PHD or you know itll be required. I’m not stupid either. I was in all advanced classes and was supposed to skip a year of school recommend by a teacher. Eventually just realized I wanna have a farm or something mainly renewable and maybe try to make money off art.
MJ No, YOU need to surrender to Jesus and repent, because you sinned and you know why... I don't have repent at all because I didn't sin, not like you.
Jesus is God. He is God in human form. God is a pure and Holy creator. He is the ONLY true God. When us people sinned, we were rightfully given the wrath of God. But God didn’t want us to die because He loved us to much for that so He sent His Son Jesus to die for us so we can live with Him in Heaven forever. Jesus is real and is alive and if you just call upon him you’ll be saved from the coming judgement. If you don’t turn away from your sins like lying, stealing fornicating, and ask Jesus for forgiveness and Obey and do what he wants you to do, you will end up in hell for all of eternity. Jesus loves you so Very much and you can be with him forever if you just 1st believe he die and really believe it, 2nd ask Jesus to forgive you and 3rd turn from your sins and follow Him. No matter what sin you have done, Remember Jesus STILL Loves you and died for you.
Lying, stealing anything big or small like bubble gum or pencils. Cheating on tests. Gossiping. Fornication (sex outside of marriage). Lusting after women (looking at them and wanting to have sex with them)
