What is the point of BANNING a bloke from driving when he's already DISQUALIFIED ? Will he give a S - - t or lose any sleep do you think? If he gets put away, he'll have a few laughs with his fellow cons in the nick about his arrest, watch a bit of TV, get out early for being a "good boy", then back to his job driving stolen vehicles.

I’ve been saying this for years... it’s utterly pointless in banning someone who flouts the law. What difference will a ban make make? Having no license, no insurance and even a driving ban won’t stop these people from driving a stolen vehicle. The sentencing isn’t fit for purpose.

Sentences for ALL those involved in the HGV incident were WOEFULLY INADEQUATE. THEY ALL SHOULD HAVE HAD ANOTHER 5 YEARS ADDED TO THEIR SENTENCES.

Sentences ar way to soft thats why we have so much worse and worse crimes going on year by year, and its not going to be any better any time soon by the looks of it😢 I think goverment should focus on how to make real time in prison sentences longer, law for those criminals should be tought. 10 year driving ban should be mandatory for driving shown here. If caught driving when banned under 10 year ban should be min 1 year served in prison which would mean a 2 year sentence.

If we don't pressurize the Government to sort out the jails/courts so that we can get these idiots who blatantly disregard the law into jails then this sort of behaviour will continue. Our standard of driving in the UK is bad enough just watch the Dashcam footage on RU-vid and people are so arrogant about their road behaviour, I just don't know where this country is going to end up!!!

A kid i was in school with 60 years ago was jailed for 6 months for no insurance or licence etc, and all he was doing was just jumping in his dads car and driving it, so these figures for perpetually breaking the law and not being insured or licensed need putting in the slammer for a decade at the minimum.

Say what you like about the police, but that is one brave cop in the first clip. Going head on into an oncoming lorry has to be a similar feeling to charging a machine gun post. Bravo. Shame that all of the criminals in this clip would have got soft punishments, as they always do in this country.

Police should be allowed to appeal convictions to get them resolved by another judge for higher sentences. Sometimes it's a joke. Police are often under appreciated for their work.

As seems to be the case these days, the courts do not support the Police. Possibly the underlying lack of Government investment in prisons contributes, but maybe also a too liberal stance by magistrates and judges. IMHO; investment in Police and Prison Service should have taken priority over getting to Manchester 20-minutes earlier!

You have those people smashing peoples cars and the damage they do is never taken into consideration when they are at court it’s left to the car owner to get the car repaired. Their insurance goes up for years to come and that is justice in Britain. I don’t think so.

I think the judge presiding in the case of the van driver should themselves be prosecuted for wilfully permitting the offences committed. It's time society removed responsibility for sentencing from senile old gits who have a limited grasp on the real world - let's just have a technocrat provide impartial legal guidance as to the sentencing range and then allow the jury to determine sentence within that range.

It’s all the fault of the Police for trying to stop and arrest them is it? Fact is they have a choice, stop and do a runner but no. If the Police called off the pursuit and the lorry carried on and killed a family in their car you would probably be the first to bleat that the Police didn’t do their job. Everyone including the video creator is complaining about the sentence.. I’m sorry but you don’t have all the facts. A range of mitigating factors are taken into account when sentencing defendants, and in any event, judges are bound by the sentencing guidelines for the most part. Our country has one of of the best legal systems in the world. I hate this kind of repeated spewed rhetoric that sentences aren’t tough enough. Look how that turned out for America and its prison population.
