Yes, there is no Tooting in this film, however it is still an amazing step back into the past especially for me as I am familiar with the area shown. Thank you for posting.

Why is this called High Street Tooting? It runs from South Wimbledon through Colliers Wood High Street (signposted), then the film runs out before they get to Tooting. Three (or four) times!

The very last yellow painted shop on this run is C.L. ENGINEERING, just past Aldis Street Tooting. According to Google maps the same building is today occupied by a Party Shop. I remember the engineering shop were a great help for motor alternators and the like. Very good friendly service.

I remember CL engineering, you had to climb over the ‘stock’ to get to the counter, but nothing was deemed to be beyond repair. Better times.

very interesting, despite not being in Tooting itself. Very recognisable even today. The bus depot opposite the (now) Savercentre hasn't changed, and a glimpse of Wandle Park to the right shortly afterwards. Thank you for posting this

Technically it just gets to Tooting High St just past the junction of Aldis St at the end of the third reel. However at one extreme it starts at Kingston Road at junction of Cecil Road. One interesting thing is that at the start of the 2nd real you can see Adams Fish Resturant and Take Away which is still there and at the end of the third real you see Mac Motors which is also still there. The vast majority of the shops shown have changed.

@@michaelkenny8540 I was thinking more late 60's early 70's has the toilets at the end of Blackshaw road are not there.

I'm sure it stank since it was a tooting area.
