I started a tradition after my mother passed that when starting in the first field of the season, I would play this. I grew up riding with my mother and father in the two machines, now its just me and my dad and our friend hauling. Harvest brings everyone together and those memories can never be forgotten. My brother who hated all of us would come out at least once a year and talk and never any other time of the year. That is how powerful harvest is in a small family farm operation.
I may be a girl but the first time I drove a combine I was 10 and driving a combine at night door open radio blaring it’s amazing and missing school for 2 3 days was amazing just to help with chopping corn!!
Well, I am from Poland, but this song is always in my mind when I think about coming harvest! Unfortunately we haven't large farms in my county. I didn't have luck to born in Canada/USA but I love you guys, thanks for memories! Greetings for everyone who's remember this song :)
My Dad and I run a Case International 1983 1620 combine with only 1900 original engine hours and this was the first year he let me run the machine for our entire soybean harvest. It was a little nerve racking at times but it was worth it. I just kept telling my self at the age of 24 how many of yours friends are doing this right and that equaled none.
im just up the road up from you i live in Brookville and we use a 9500 sidehill with a 25 ft head and my dad use to have his one buddy bring his 9510 up with his 25ft head and run in the same field and the guy that taught my dad how to run a combine got a phone call from a guy that knew him saying hey you need to see this Tim Caldwell is running 2 25 ft heads in one field and my dads mentor said he thought he'd never see that in our area
i remember the first combine i ran in the field it was (at the time) our big massey ferguson 850 with a 25ft grain platform, i remember being scared everytime i would throttle it up, because you were sitting right next to the sound of a strait piped 354 perkins!
I miss the old farm......1000 acre man the adventures I had on that land.....ha I remember sneaking on to farms in highschool having a bonfire then getting chased by a combine hahhah oh man I miss the days
@catherineandelvis Lead singer is Brad Rempel, others are Bryan and Curtis Rempel. They are brothers. Paul Brandt appears in the video. He co-wrote this song with Brad. :)
they never mentioned a john deere combine it was a john deere lunch kit and the type of combine is not the point of the song or the video the point of this song is memories made during harvest no matter how old you are
It appears I have been mispronouncing the name of this machine for a long time. I've been pronounce it com-bine. However, the base word is comb, like comb your hair. The real pronunciation is infact (phonetically),c , long "o" mbine. As in combing out the crops. Combine. Well now, I stand corrected.
