I have never been a fan of tube pedals because the plate voltage never can get hot enough, but it looks like they nailed it with this one. Awesome reviews man.

Hi Pete, there is a charge pump in the circuit and it's able to transform 9v or 18v to 250v easily... The current is not high for sure but for this circuit the voltage, which run your tube, is the most important here!!! It need 250v to drive tubes as a real tube-amp (Edit: Voltage is exprimed in Volt and Current is exprimed by Amp) A lot of good tube preamp pedal have a charge pump, for the other which don't have it, like the berhinger vintage turbo monsteur 5for exemple, sound lifeless and way different than a real tube correctly drive, that makes all the tonal difference and especially a feeling difference when you play your guitar! As usually you are my motivation to work and work, and maybe continu to work my guitar's skills☺️ Thank you Pete for being who you are!!!

I know I’m late to the party, but this is an excellent demo Pete! The Kaluna is a real gem. It’s not marketed as a “MIAB”, but it is an amazing Marshally pedal. The medium/high gain sounds are killer, but it also does low gain really nicely. Very dynamic with Marshall punch and kerrrrang! The EQ is very flexible too. Really easy to dial it in with any rig.

Very cool pedal and great video, Pete! My Seymour Duncan Twin Tube pedal, which I love, operates on the same concept. Very high voltage through two mini tubes. Great sounds!

The pedal sounds quite good best to push a tube amp as harmonics are different between solid state and tube and the 250 volts is average running voltage for a 12AX7 for the plate voltage and done with a built in inverter to go from 9vdc to 250

Hello Pete , when you come on the tube I listen to you. You are a darn good player. This pedal sounds good. What does the guitar, amp and speakers sound like without the pedal. Hey, I know time is limited but it would be nice for a before the pedal and with the pedal for example. A Fan. Ok, I heard it with and without the pedal at 6:29 Sorry. You da man.

I mean, it could be argued that there’s a similarity between any pedal that makes the guitar go grrrrr since the dawn of time. Or rather since the dawn of pedals. But it’s the subtleties that makes some people use a big muff versus a Metal zone versus Klon vs....
