I made my self a crevice tool like your scratch awl only like flat edge screwdrivers at both ends to get between rocks it came out good was looking for a crevice tool like yours but found the piece of metal (FREE) is very good and it doesn't rust now to put it to use

Hi Pauly. Just a tip for fixing your leakage on this kind of hose, is to cut of 20-30 cm of your hose at the end, and slide it over the hole ( without pessure on your hose ) When you get pressure on your hose again, your leakage would be fixed... No tape is needed :)

I always use a safety pan when I pan my cons out. You will be surprised at how much gold you actually lose when panning out your concentrates.

I found one of my biggest nuggets during my dredge cleanout in my catch pan, I had the same thing happen when sluicing and pushing all the pebbles out of my pan. Gotta classify it to catch it all.

At your age in my country with some friends we digging a hole 9 mt deep without permission, Young and unknowing the rules but we searching for a gold statue old more then 2000 years. We don't find the statue because without recycled the air we start to be seek and abandoned the adventure, now watching your videos remind me good time, but I still searching gold here in Quebec 👍

G’day Brian Pioneer Pauley & Co ;-) you could potentially use a plastic drink bottle to fix your leak heat shrink it in place. Or cut a piece off the end of the hose and sleeve it back over leak. Oh yes you could purchase a white umbrella to give more light too, or aluminium foil, then you could wear it too...lol Hope you all find way more than enough! I look forward to more adventures. You really didn't seem to enjoy that very much mate. That highbanker takes a long time to clean out may I suggest trying the dream mat far less time to clean out and less black sands I have done the tests and dream mat is as good as riffles and moss

I find your closing comments a bit disturbing, after a career that involved working around an inside many excavations. When you said that your friend, Brian, would continue digging, hence working belowgrade, it implied that he was doing this solo. Very uncomfortable to contemplate , and extremely unsafe by the industrial safety programs I worked under for years. In the back of my mind is the hope that you and Brian have a 3rd body there for spotting and safety. A 100 cm excavation under the US OSHA requirements would mandate a ladder in the exczvation, and if you worked out, effectively trenching the site, another ladder every 3 meters. (I am converting the depths/distances as the OSHA regs use "Traditional" units, not metric...) I really enjoy your videos, but please! Work safely so you can keep making videos! And, to credential this somewhat, I am a retired QA Inspector in Soils and Materials. 35+ years on construction site...

The 1.2 meter "legal limit" is an arbitrary number, a guide, not the law. Nothing in the Mines Act ot Mineral Titles act that says that. It's just a paper pusher number. UNENFOCEABLE! WHat are they going to charge you with? Digging? A miner on a mining claim is digging a hole. lol Also, you do not need a permit to dig deeper, just an inspector saying it's ok.

1.2 meters is 4 feet. That sluice box is about 9 feet too short (old timers had a minimum of 12ft long boxes), you're losing 80% of the gold, I.E flower gold because all we see is matchstick size, where's the tiny stuff? in the tailing pile. Also those black sands you're tossing out have gold in it you just needs to roast it on cast iron to release the sulfur and reveal the magnetic gold bearing iron sands (iron eats and hides gold until released from roasting then panned out again, easy). Also, get a pressure washing and just start making a big circle 10 ft in diamter, or pour 5 gallon buckets of water down the sides. Why were you the only one digging, everyone else standing around with hands in their pockets? If you want hot water and warm hands, get copper rod on the fire and it will self siphon cold water into hot water 160 degree, 5 gallon buckets worth in 1 hour. Everything else with camera production is top notch and you guys never cease to amaze with something new in each video. Might I suggest putting your gold in a spoon carved out russet potato, hold it in your hand and yellow MAP torch it for ten minutes to combine all your gold into a button. Voila a million subscribers easy. Great vid under difficult conditions & that picker would definitely have me digging to hopefully find a "directional" line on the old shale bar that must have been there once. Good luck with it. Oh, I nearly forgot, always carry a 1ft length of 2inch Ag pipe, a piece of bicycle inner tube & a couple of 3inch radiator hose clamps. Excellent for "sleeving" & clamping a hole in your feeder hose like the one you had. 😀.

I put a 1.5" pvc ball valve before my highbanker and a 1.5in x 1/2in tee with a hose spigot so I can kill the water flow while leaving my pump running and use a garden hose to clean up... or hydrolic

I watched a guy pressurer washing and had a hole in the hose. He put his hand over the hole like you just did and it nearly cut his hand off. I gritted my teeth when you did that. If you are really on a bedrock layer, that muck in the bottom could have more chunky gold (an obvious comment). How do you "clean off" that bedrock to check that? A yabby? We could use a small dredge in the states and get it "squeaky clean".
