I hate to admit this but I gotta be fair. When Gisele was discovered in the rural area of Brazil, original supermodels like Kate and Claudia saw her as a HUGE threat. In fact, Naomi and Claudia dubbed Gisele as 'the last real supermodel' ending that era of heroine chic. That was the time when they started declining. "The Trinity" (Naomi, Christy and Linda) got lesser job. The media focused on Gisele for her 'ability to walk in towering heels'. To these days, we see her as the Highest paid model in the world (on her way to breaking the record for being the first model billionaire). But there's one thing that'd never change: when we practically talk about catwalk, not even Gisele can touch Naomi.

I agree. These are supermodels, and Gisele is the ubermodel. None of the supermodels ever reached such a level of earnings.

Earnings don't really count, since she rose to fame in a completely different period to Linda, Naomi, Christy, Cindy, Claudia etc. when models get paid way more. PLUS the 90's girls did a lot of shows and stuff for free because of their friendships with rising designers. Naomi, Linda etc appeared in a lot of Galliano's earliest shows for free to help him boost his brand. As for Naomi, she would have earned way more if it weren't for the fact the industry was, and still is, partially racist. I don't wanna play the race card but you can't deny it had a huge impact not only on how she booked jobs (less Vogue covers for example) but also how she was paid. If Naomi etc. were at their peaks the same time as Gisele, Gisele wouldn't have earned as much. Gisele is an icon but she dominated the industry when there was no competition. Naomi, Linda, Cindy etc all had to compete with each other.
