Bridget Sloan's full twisting double pike form is incredible. Also that floor routine from Tasha is one of my favorite floor routines ever, the dance fit the music very well and she really sold it. I hated Shawn's 2008 floor music, it didn't have like any beat to it, it just never seemed like good floor music to me.
Not everyone. On average, yes more scores are inflated domestically. And some of that has to do with "incentive scoring" and other bonuses that they just make up to give an unfair advantage to gymnasts who have a higher D score. But some gymnasts (typically the ones with better execution) actually score higher internationally for doing the exact same routines they do domestically. It's almost like the international judges are looking for different things and have a preferred style.
As amazing as most of this tumbling is, the form on some of these twists is just ugh. Hardly anything can top a beautifully performed triple twist but it is just so easy to spot errors like crossed feet and it gets ugly quickly... or is that just my opinion?
I think I'd have been a bigger Tasha Schwikert fan if she hadn't used that horrible floor music so many years in a row... what a talented gymnast! Actually the music in that era was absolutely dreadful all around, gymnastics were beautiful though...
I think Shawn Johnson was always overscored by USA judges. When she competed international championships with the same performances she scored way lower
And yet, she still won the gold medal at the 2007 worlds and the silver at the 2008 Olympics on floor. Inflated scoring or not, she was the best in the world on floor at one point.
@@captainbryce1 That's not the point. She scored 15.500 at floor finals in Beijing for example. Her 16+ scores at nationals were extremely overrated considering she had lack of artistry, flexibility and execution errors. She was a great gymnast but let's be fair.
@@kauanvital3808literally almost every country overscores their athletes at nationals so it's best not to fret over it. It would have been a much bigger issue if they overscored her internationally(which they actually did on her amanar considering she never got it completely around. They were pretty lenient during that quad though given there were a ton of triples on floor and beam that were credited but weren't all the way around)
You should’ve added Simone Biles’ floor routine from the Tokyo podium training, just to compare them all together. Her podium training floor routine was literally impeccable
I love Simone but I'm glad this video was just 2000-2011 since we know she would have been the only athlete for all the years after except for 2017 and 2022 lol
