I’m from the Black Isle in the Highlands of Scotland, north of Inverness. A great rendition of Highland Cathedral. Well done Oklahoma City. Catherine Smith. 👍🥰
Had me bawling as the pipes hit. As a highlander having been gone from home for many years I've been thinking a lot over the past week since I first came across this. Discussed it with my wife and can happily say we're going home at the beginning of 2023. All I can say is thanks.
Aye it is time for a holiday in that very beautiful land you and i know as Bonnie Scotland Jack , so to you and your good Misses have a lovely time back hame . Duncan, Clontarf Beach Queensland Australia
Thank you from a proud Scots Presbyterian a beautiful version of a beautiful tune even the words are very spiritual loved the way the congregation stood when the bagpipes started to play and the swagger of the pipers walking off to rousing applause 👏 it brought tears to my eyes god bless the congregation and stay safe at this hard time😢😢💙💙🏴🏴
This is the BEST version I have ever heard..............,and the congregation stood respectfully....well done Oklahoma City, well done.......God Bless America, Les Griffiths ( Australia)
Best arrangement of this I have ever heard. This is also an anthem of specialty to Scotland from which the Presbyterian Church was found......I believe.
@@zbigniewwendorff4989 I am Scottish and a friend of one of the original Composers, Michael Korb. I have written church lyrics to a organ composition only published February 2021 Antony Baldwin is the arranger. It can be purchased at this link. www.banksmusicpublications.co.uk/publishers/banks-music-publications/praise-to-the-king-the-lord-of-all-we-see-highland-cathedral
O M G I've always loved this tune as it reminds me of my mother . This is one of the best I have heard I've cried the whole way throu . Simply beautiful thank you so much . Respect to each & everyone of you
What can you say? Just heart-moving. Meanwhile my favorite piece. You want to stand up like all these fantastic people in this audience. Heard it again and again and again....
Pity we can’t give more then one thumbs up and to those that gave thumbs down just goes to show you done have Scottish blood I your veins the bagpipes stir my soul everytime I here them
I work part-time for the company that built and installed this instrument, and get to help the President of the Reuter firm when he comes down to tune this instrument, so being the organist/choirmaster of a local Anglican Parish Church, I can com in and play this lovely instrument when I ask ahead of time. Quite a thrill to play this gorgeous instrument as compared to the analog electronic instrument at my church.
Highland Cathedral has been proposed as Scotland's national anthem. There are several versions for lyrics but all speak to the heart. Highland Cathedral is my home.
Incredible, 2 Germans capturing the Hi'lands this well... Ulrich Roever and Michael Korb, neither of Scots origine, making this tune. Quite bloody stunning!
Just sent my very RC sister this with glowing recommendation, following a very 'personal' Kentucky RC version-many versions are available. Love them all! May your God bless you too!
Bagpipes were deemed a weapon of war because they instilled fear on the enemy, now they strike a yearing and great passion for freedom and peace 🏴
Kudos to those Germans who wrote this wonderful piece of music that is the source of calm to the entire world. This music has the ability to douse the flame of wars.
Today is my wedding anniversary and my husband watched me walk down the aisle to this marvelous piece 19 years ago. Your rendition of it has reduced me to tears. It's absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for sharing this.
Lonely the exile, o'er distant seas, The home of their birth, gone from their eyes. Bring back their souls o'er the ocean breeze To the land where their fathers lie. - sadly thats the last lines of the song
That would not sit quite right for a church service though: better for that massed-bands YT segment recorded in '08. Introduction on solo flute -- there's church music!
Different. In a great cause but the orchestra playing different notes to the pipers makes the end sound like clashing musicians. Pity. Great idea though.
No, this was stunningly beautiful and delightfully complex. The harmonies created between pipes and orchestra were perfect, right down to the concluding crescendo. Magnificent!!
