Highland Park reclaims tradition while honoring those lost 

Two years after tragedy, the community of Highland Park hosted its first Fourth of July parade. The event planned to reclaim a beloved tradition while honoring the seven who were killed and the dozens more injured and scarred. The parade this year was held along a new route that bypassed the stretch of Central Avenue where the 2022 massacre unfolded. WGN Video Journalist Kevin Doellman was there.
