Just followed through a link and found this gem. I used to play the Tape in the car on a Philips portable cassette player. This was before the cars had cassete players. funny thing is I could remember all the dialogue and had a great sing song to myself.
A wonderful little slice of the Para Handy legend captured in the early 1960s. It made me chuckle as the actors don't look at all comfortable on the open sea. My father had the album of these songs, which was given to him by the guitarist on the record, George Hill, who was a neighbour of ours. Dad would often sing along with them at home. The songs that feature in this film represent the first side of the album. Thank you very much for sharing the film and helping to bring back some very pleasant memories.
Your neighbour was George Hill! He certainly provided a great accompaniment to the songs. I bought 'Highland Voyage' as a cassette tape back in the early days when it was easily available. I still love listening to it from time to time. It's the world of my boyhood in Scotland. How life changes! I didn't know this existed as a film, so what a treat to find this by chance on You Tube.
Yes, really well spotted, Intrepid was launched on 25 June 1964 and looks a good way from launching, and the leaves on the trees at the Crinan canal look like it is about late July, early August so this must have been filmed in 1963.
