Thanks to iChase for popping in on my stream and highlighting just how ridiculous some aspects of this event are. Stream: www.twitch.tv/flamuu Insta: instagram.com/flamugram/ Twitter: twitter.com/flamuchz Discord: discord.gg/Flamu
Graaf Spee 2.0 has come and it's bigger, better and even more WG greed than ever. Do they really never learn? The forums and reddit will be on fire for months. My comments get deleted if I use the r word, ty youtube.
I was actually thinking of buy a few doubloons to help me along... and then saw this and decided.. Nope not even thinking of it now, so WH just cost themselves at least some money by being greedy!
@@Boatswain_Tam sounds about right in my WoWs timeline I know it won't be built aswell - of course only to stay loyal to history ... only because of that of course.
WG specifically left out Operations so that they won't count for when these directives start getting crazy. For the PVE side of the house, unless you fork out big money, this event is impossible to do.
devs made the event, some suit from finances came over and added a zero to everything for more rubels tovarish that's 100% how it went down games are killed in boardroom meetings
Positive thing in this event is Use your money and time for having good time with families or friends. Buy some presents for families Drunk with friends And have good time with beloved one Lol Happy holidays guys
So... I spent that amount of money lately on a transmitter so I can track my bird if she gets blown away or spooked by something. It weighs 3.5 grams, lasts for at least three days and can be tracked from fifty miles away. Now, that's a ton of money for something you don't strictly *need*, but it's bleeding edge kit, each unit is tested for five days and tested in the extremes of temperatures found on Earth before being shipped out; it provides a huge amount of peace of mind. Or I could buy a fucking ship.
I think the Puerto Rico grind should be aviable for unlimited time. It would still be the hardest grind in the game, but no1 would be stressed about a time limit.
WG: we are giving away a T10 cruiser Alaska. WG: oh we forgot.... You have to grind your life away with our directives......oh we would like $258 also.
Seriously....why does anyone spend this amount of money for a fucking load of pixels? Keep in mind, and not that I see this happening any time soon, but the day they fold, you the player are left with NOTHING!! How does that strike you for a return on your investment? May as well put money into a Ponzi scheme.
I think Flamu missed the best part of directive 7 that chat pointed out: The last directive with commander xp is is *European* commanders only! Have fun :D
@@breezyyeezy8858 I can confirm. Heck I decided to try World of tanks and just abandoned it after seeing the Polish and italian tree wich was something worse than Pay to win, it was Pay to have fun. World of warships premiums are basically the same ship as the non premium sister ship but with an upgrade for example, North Carolina and Massachusets, both are sister ships and Massa has some better stats than North Carolina (Secondaries eh hem), not only that Massa costs 60 EUROS wich is waaayyy to much same as rank 8 ships like kaga or Enterprise cost 40 euros and then there is containers, they are expensive as fuck and you have a 99%chance of not getting anything, there is also Weeb ships or commanders, these new ships cost minimum 40 euros, way to much and just the Hololive commanders not to long ago costed around 10 euros. In a nutshell, WG is probably as greedy as EA or more but can´t never hope to have so much people to scam the same as EA does.
This was the straw that broke the camel's back for me... When I like a game, I spend money on it (sometimes way too much, as in the case of Warships). But it's exactly this kind of bullshittery that turns me off from spending on a game permanently. It happened with Planetside 2, it happened with Apex Legends and now with Warships. WG lost a paying customer and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Also pretty sure they forgot one zero from the first tanking directive, since 2.3m potential damage is actually very doable. I expect a patch to fix this glaring mistake as soon as possible and the individual responsible for the mistake to be drawn and quartered.
For me it was the Benham Grind. Was in middle of it when I realized that I am not having fun anymore, and just quit. A bit later, the NTC thing came out, and I saw the way the wind was blowing and direction WG was taking and decided to just stop playing. Looking at things that have happened with this game in past 6 months, it seems that was correct decision. I miss the game, really loved the core gameplay loop. But the monetization bullshit surrounding this, and all the FOMO they throwing at you all the damn time with new ships and premiums, its just way too much.
The Benham grind was the last straw. I have been away for 6 months, thought I would check back to see what has been going on. I found out things have only gotten worse. Fuck the oligarchs.
I stopped giving wg money around the time of the cv rework. It was obvious that wg was forcing people to deal with something that wasn't read and mostly just pretending to listen to feedback. Then, while it was still nowhere near ready, they started pushing premium cvs. Every game they make would be a damn sight better if it was made by pretty much anyone else.
This grind would represent about year of my gaming time. Assuming I had grinded all the required ships in the previous years. And this is the only game I play.
I recently started playing my other games, and I don't find myself missing this game at all. Even less now that this event was revealed! The only thing that I worry about is my clan mates because those guys are really nice
its actually true!!! it would take several weeks to months to rebuild country after huricane into more or less working condition.. but to grind for this ship would take more than a year..
U are correct about more or less working condition, but then we got a governor that was just dead up trash and the country went to shit until me made a revolution and he got replaced and the country is not in such bad shape anymore.
Well i did not take part, but i did watch em on TV they were going on every night in front of the capital for like 2 weeks. But i can give them a nasty reply making fun of them that a country can fix itself faster than they can complete a grind in a video game. Maybe il give them a telephone call or a stubborn disapproving look.
"how can anyone take their word on anything anymore" Could we ever? I created a WG account to try WoT in 2011 or 12 or so. I decided to not play this because of the kind of company WG is. When WoWS came out it didn't even seem that bad. I had fun and it was my favorite game for a long time. Well it just went downhill since 0.8.0. WG is being max WG again. This is insane.
The absolutely worst thing is the fact that the reason they keep escalating these extremely scummy, greedy megatransaction schemes is because it works and makes them an absolute ton of profit. I can't even imagine what would compel someone to pay $100+ or grind 24/7 for weeks just to get their hands on a digital ship, tank, or what-have-you , but apparently some people think that's perfectly reasonable. Go figure. Now, obviously people are free to spend their time and money however they see fit, but it's somewhat unfortunate because it ultimately means we can't have nice things.
@@VonCarlsson Well, some people donate thousands of dollars to twitch thots, spending a few hundred dollars on a pixel ship isn't the lowest a man can go...
yeah lol Like wtf u could get an Alaska for 3 free xp directives aka 1/14 (3/42) the amount of directives u need Oh and you get to unlock like 8 lines on top of that. At this point why not just grind for a Hinden or DM or something for pretty much the same experience
it's more efficient to get a real job and pay with money. You either grind for 28 days non-stop or work 20 hours and pay for it. I don't even think puertorico gameplay is even worth it
I played with 2 separate Peurto Rico's last night. At least the tool got roasted pretty nicely by everyone. Its like $240 to buy it now..... How sad people feed WG
Markus it was possible for me to get the Benham for free on the last day. But only because I got incredibly lucky to win the USS Hill in a stream raffle. The Hill made it way easier. But the grind was an excruciating chore which left me burned out for the game.
Apparently we've been transported to an alternative universe, where Montanas get burned to death by cabin cruisers and "easy" becomes "literally impossible." Maybe WG is trying to raise funds to help repair the burning Admiral Kuznetsov?
Everyone should just hold back and let them push. Duel it out to the death. Then the winners get fucked by the opposing team. Then everyone can continue to enjoy the match
No. I hate EA as much as the next guy -- probably more if he's not drunk too -- but this is one-upping both EA and Bethesda put together. It's like EA: And this is how you say fuck you to the players. Betheda: Hah, noob. FO76 is how you really paint a FUCK YOU on the moon in front of the players. WG: Hold my beer.
I did the math and even with buying all 3 boosters with the doubloons , i dont even think with the auto building you can complete the ship before the event is over. But even more, you can literally buy the Alaska, the Puerto Rico's sister ship for a fraction of the price for just buying PR.
Love your reaction. If you don't think you can do this how are 48% patatos like me going to finish the 1st one before the end at 6 games a day? Did someone move a decimal point too far?
I was hyped by the PR, and have been willing to spend some dubs to get her slightly faster. But after seeing these absurd numbers??? Well WG you can keep your "free" ship. I've alwas managed to get the free Xmas ships until now, and I won't spend A FRIGGING EURO in santa crates even. These men have lost their minds.
Loved watching Flammus growing incredulity as he unwraps the PR event. If players like Flammu and Ichase think it is impossible imagine what the rest of us average players think.
THANK YOU WG.... Thank you for letting us see Flamu in this condition... At the 7th directive I am tearing up from laughter just from Flamu's reactions. On a serious tone now, as I already said at another Community Contributor RU-vid post on the same topic: I guess THIS is the time to make them feel failure in not letting EVEN ONE Puerto Rico sail in WG seas... Just play the game at YOUR pace and YOUR leisure during holidays, do everything you would normally do, buy ships do stuff but DO NOT touch this grindstone and DO NOT spent even a cent on Puerto Rico... Do not let these russian mafia trolls laugh at you, at our player community!
Im always quiting and returning after several months but always getting an invite ofc!! This time i got 25 x each signal, 40 days premium, 2 SC and warspite as a spice, after premium ends i will quit again for at least 3 months :))
I decided to stop spending money on this game in July, before this happened it looked like i was going to start again. Now... my credit card is staying in my wallet.
The way I see this, Flamu, sir... it just doesn't matter~ the only way is to just ignore the dockyard and pretend they never announced anything, and just grind for ships that I am really interested in. Thanks for the video!
Thank you Flamu for clearing up my schedule for Christmas and New Year. I might open Warships again in February. Now I will have time for friends and family. And sorry for your pain. You sounded in pain...
Guys don't be so ungrateful! By completing the directives for Puerto Rico you also unlock something like 6 T10 lines, gain enough free XP to unlock a couple of free XP ships and you have enough commander XP to fully max commanders for them! On top of that, you get that sweet sense of pride and accomplishment you usually only really get from EA games. All of that completely free!
F it, I'm taking a Christmas brake from wows till this event is over. I do not want to play with tired, stressed or bot players. See ya in the new year!
@@saturnascension I have (and to some extend still am) thought about it. This is a big insult to the player base, but I do not have enough information on how this came to be to condemn them outright. I have had tons of fun with wows over the years and I am still confident that I will next year. If this debacle is the result of wargaming putting an idiot or some entitled narcissist at the head of the department that designs these events, and then proceeded to piss off his colleagues into malicious compliance , I am prepared to wait out the storm. If this company knows what's best for the longevity of the game, someone should be fired and changes will be made. However, if this becomes the new standard practice , that would just confirm that wargaming no longer cares about players and that the hole thing has become just another blunt freemium cashgrab.
I hope this is just a typo math WG did in this mission. WG this is not a christmas what we want, can you just give us this ship for free in this christmas? Did you do this EA?
Well, time to quit my job, breaking up with my girlfriend, ending all social contacts with family and friends as well as to buy a truckload of gamer grip and monster energy
I didn't even know the grind was this horrendous. I thought I would return for some Christmas bonus, but after seeing what resembles a full written essay of how to get the Puerto Rico, I already stopped caring.
I used to compliment the WoWS team for having reasonable, well thought out events that normal people can complete. Unlike a certain tank game. Oh well...
They do the same thing in World of Tanks. Impossible missions to earn a “free” premium tank. When you come up short, you have the option to buy it anyway.
yeah but in wot at least you have to play like 6-8h for a week or 2 but here is almost a full month of 10-15h of playing a day And if you are a f2p tryhard you have the chance to get prem tanks for free
