Fu had the most powerful and wicked jump smash in the world, and Cai was one of the best net players. Put those together for that long during their primes, and you had a MONSTER MD pair -- one of the GREATEST of all time!
Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng is best players: 4X: World Champion 1X: Olimpic Champion (2012) 1X: World Cup Champion (2005) 2X: All England Champion 1X: Olimpic Champion (Fu Haifeng/Zhang Nan: 2016)
@@melonwang399 in 2016 rio olympics, the top 2 seeds to get the gold medals are hendra/ahsan and lyd/yys. But they failed to reach the final and event the semifinal. In fact, fu/zhang from china and goh/tan from malaysia who reach the final.
legendary attacking combo plus awesome defense, on par with top korean defense like jung/lyd. their rotation was extremely active and precise, and they worked the net very hard with many technical touches to earn the attack. not just the superlative quality of their attacks but the pace and pressure they brought was fierce and relentless. sometimes when you watch the sport from a few years ago it looks a little dated, but cai/fu of more than ten years ago still look like the future
the greatest pair ever, shame that after they won the olympic cai yun starting to decline....but good for fhf there's zhang nan, help him get his second gold medal at the olympic.
When Cai Yun gets a winner with a jumpsmash and Fu Haifeng gets a winner with a netplay, you know you're done because they win the point from their "weakness." LOL Nvm, i think they are one of the greatest duo, just like Yin and Yang
when you play cai/fu you need to change the pace a lot more to break their defense, hendra setiawan is the master of this...if only ahsan/setiawan were already playing together in 2011, I believe they could handle cai/fu.
It will just be the same as Setiawan/Kido vs Cai/Fu. They can win some and lose some. That won't stop Cai/Fu from winning titles. The only way Ahsan/Setiawan can prove that they are better is to win more titles. They still haven't won the olympics as a pair yet.
@@ajaiasokan4183 I did. But what happened after that until Olympics 2012? Where was Setiawan then when Fu/Cai dominated all major tournaments from 2009-2012? You probably know it yourself how stupid the comment you just made.
