This was an amazing experience. I had imposter syndrome the whole time, but was just ecstatic to be in attendance

What kind of food did they serve? I completely forgot about it while attending trade night. I’m sure it was better than Taco Bell I picked up at midnight after the trade night. 😝

It was definitely a step up from Taco Bell!

When will the put the 2024 winners online?

People should stop using PSA and every other grading company. The entire process of grading should be automated, performed digitally, standardized and one price for any card regardless of value.

How do you verify if a card is real, and look at things like surface digitally?
@SS-pc6dg

@@robertlove5967 How did we verify cards were real before these entities existed? The grading companies make many mistakes regarding the authenticity of cards and take ZERO responsibility for their own failures. LIDAR can measure the surface of the Earth so.... Were these real questions? Officiating in sports could be mostly automated too but then it would be much harder to rig games...

@@SS-pc6dg we verified their existence by having them in hand. Seeing if the printing was correct, card stock was correct, etc. Looking at a picture of a card won’t allow anyone to determine if the card is real. I understand not liking grading and the associated companies but I still believe you cannot automate grading 100% and grading cannot be done digitally. Also you said no one should use grading, but then say how grading should be? What is the logic there?

@@robertlove5967 You could not grade a card unless you had the actual card in hand (I never said anything about using a picture). The printing and card stock could easily be checked digitally. I never said you could automate grading 100% but the fact you can send in the same card to the same grading company and get different grades should tell you that the current method is broken and likely entirely corrupt. Does PSA or any other grading company let the consumer know who is grading their card? Do they provide the graders background/qualifications? The process is entirely opaque (likely on purpose) but people keep throwing money at them like imbeciles. I did not think I would have to spell out exactly how a MOSTLY (happy?) automated grading process would occur but after the machine did it's work the results would always be verified by a human to ensure the machine didn't have issues. The majority of grading can easily be done digitally and quite easily. If you are unable to see how I blame a simple lack of knowledge. With AI now it has expanded the amount and level of accuracy digital automation could be achieved. Ex. AI can identify issues/concerns from an X-Ray at levels which no human has ever been able to or will be able to. The logic is to stop paying these grading companies until the entire process is entirely transparent, 100% consistent, standardized and fair. The way forward IMO is to abandon all of the grading companies and to form a non-profit co-op of collectors. Anybody participating in grading becomes a member/partner. No for-profit company will be able to perform grading services in the long-term and this method would keep costs at a minimum. Any card, regardless of value should cost the exact same amount as any other card to grade. I also do not believe we need a 1 - 10 scale and would instead use a scale more closely associated with the particular data sets one would be able to create for any particular card. I would suspect you would end up with only 3-5 levels of quality at most. IMO most real collectors could care less if a card is a PSA 9 or 10 (only people looking for $ do, i.e. NOT collectors) since you really cannot tell the difference with the naked eye, both a 9 and 10 look great. Until greedy individuals stop feeding the beast... the beast will only grow larger and more unfair. Too bad so many people are driven by greed versus the fun of collecting. I hope this was clear enough for your needs, I assume you are an employee of one of the grading companies due to your "interest".

To achieve the scale of transactions (especially online) this hobby needs to really take off, standardization (grading) is essential
