Hey. Iv been saying this for yrs. Why. N how do buncha shady fuks dictate grading prices. N more cards Werth more they get. , ,They tell you wipe card before u send it. , So thers no finger print proof. N they have yr card for yr. Before u get one back. I'm guessing yr 10 now become ther 10 n sold before you ever get yr card back that's now. 8.5. Dressed up like 9 or 9.5, cudnt be 10. Cus then thers be too many 10s in system. N lowering overall price ,. This way. When u get yr card back in big plastic wrap n plastic case. Is it 5 or 10 , of even same card u sent , /,. Time to shut down grading card n coin cons ,. If ppl don't believe. Pop yr cards or coins outa the case n inspected while u wait perfesxional,. My guess is then ther alot ppl realizing they ain't got what they think , been told n sold /. Grade card or coin. So much card strait up. Not this taking 10 15 percent of card cus it's worth 5 grand. Compared to another card Werth 5 dollers. ,What's difference ,.
Good content. I personally haven’t seen Fanatics execute anything that makes me say “I hope they get their hands on more”. Anything Fanatics touches screams higher prices and lower quality. If they get grading they will have low quality with a bunch of content bros pumping them just to be friends with Rubin.
Monopolies are NEVER good for the consumer! I thought it was crazy paying $350 for a box of Prizm football back in 2017, but I did get a Mahomes Prizm Rookie & Instant Impact Prizm. Look at the outrageous prices today! I make more money by NOT buying!!!!
@@LawrenceFZIII your channel is unique. You have great interviews and conversations. You should interview other business owners in the hobby like a breaker or a subber or a retail wax flipper or fotl etc Lots of ways to enjoy and make money in the hobby
@@TheCardHunter Funny you say that Josh Cade / Bulk Submitter is coming on in a couple weeks! He wants to tell his side of the superfractor story but we will get into biz too.
@@SportCardMadness That will be excellent. Ask him about Vinny and Slab Hut connection. Cade is a stable in the hobby "under ground". I refer to Facebook groups as the true "Under Ground" of the hobby. Not in a bad way either if you know your way around.
funny vid... I raise my hand, I called this signing "Leon Lett" before I heard team MJ asked to use med blue Sharpie.. I posted comment yesterday, a med Blue sharpie head will wear down after long use.. thus the sig gets fatter and fatter. A brand new out of package Sharpie head and warmed up would have produced a much thinner sig.. so, the fact MJ requested med Blue Sharpie... i get that.. but why not break open a few brand new ones and warm them up so, as MJ sits down... the pen is new/warm and would have produced a tight sig.... just saying... (think Jordan shrug) but as dust settles, this is one of the most important private signing ever..up there with Fleer/Upper Deck 23 buy back signing... a great get for the MJ collector who has them...
I watch a lot of content creators and saw no interviews of athletes, I don’t know if they didn’t have access to a he athletes, but if the want to grow the hobby if the had interviews with athletes that would draw in non collectors who are sports fan and if in that interview they show a rookie card and talk about with the athletes that could draw interest to non collectors. They be like hey I have that Bo Jackson rookie somewhere in a old shoebox in my basement and could get them back in the hobby. So I would more athletes interviews. Unless in you are in the hobby no body cares about the fanatics ceo.
And that being said I think you guys did the best coverage of the national. I was just thinking if you interviewed some athletes you could have brought viewers in outside the hobby
Thanks! Yeah it was EXCEPTIONALLY hard to get the athletes. You essentially have to wait there for hours and then maybe you get lucky and the athlete/handler are in a good mood and you get 90 seconds with them when they take a break from signing. We will try and plan better next time, but we decided to use that time in other ways.
@@SportCardMadness yeah that makes sense. Waiting 2 hours in line to have them say no comment. The national , fanatics panaini or who ever should try to get these athletes to talk to content creators, have them talk about their cards , the values, the hobby and that would draw more interest into the hobby from fans of these that don’t collect. One the cool things about the goldin reality show was them talking to the athletes and then talking about the values of memorabilia and even seeing them wanting a piece of it.
@@area51sea You might dig this episode we did w Walt Frazier. We asked him a lot of those questions ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wnc_PUcvxso.html
LZ, regarding your list, did you pick up any vintage basketball autos for yourself or Nick? Sorry, if I missed any pick ups in your videos. I don't remember seeing any.
I did not pick up any new autos for my sets. These last 4 are really hard (Pat Cummings, Mike Mitchell, Norm Nixon and MJ). I did get some of my ‘86 Autos slabbed by CGC/JSA. They came out great!!!
@@SportCardMadness Wow! You got a clean sweep on all these: Rackley, Komives, Bridges Rodgers, and Flynn Robinson. That is a major accomplishment. Congrats...Happy for you. I'm still slow going but making some progress.
@@TheDetonator501 Wellllll I cheated a little. Bridges and Guy Rodgers are slabbed cuts that I glued onto the cards so I don’t quite count it complete. The rest are done though
Hi Guys, Coming from a dinosaur. Who is probably stuck in the 70`s. Im maybe thinking you guys don`t like SGC. as much as others grading co.? Not sure. But as a 96.2% collector I just think SGC. vintage looks way better to me. A rep. at SGC. named Brent absolutely went out of his way and could not have been any better helping me set up/login/getting started. And being old school customer service is a lost art ( I know SGC. is owned by PSA. now) I kinda feel and I don`t know why but PSA. just gives off the vibe to me as sorta elitist. Up charges, memberships and interviews Ive seen from them on you tube. Question? on the 1st set of takeaways #5, I think PSA. Rubin about slabs? Do you think hes seen SGC`s process and ease to work with/ customer service prompted him to see this? Years ago I was an hourly worker for one of the top companies in the US. and was asked by the HR. department to attend a meeting with hourly and salary and didn`t know what was going on? But the TOP had no idea about what auctually going on near the bottom and was asked why didn`t I say anything? Basically I said a few of us didn`t want to blow are on horn and didn`t exactly know how or what to say? Lack of communication. Hope this makes some sense. Thanks Jim.
Hwres one for ya... i will never buy from Prostein, ever again. I won an auction for a tua xr select from 2019. I was sent an envelope with 2 pieces of cheap, wait free packaging material. 2 peices of a ripped priority mail box and they forgot to include the card! This theiving shill bidding company fought me to the nail with ebay not to pay me for their mistake. They sent the package to ebay for them to examine. Ebay found in my favor. I guess ebay weighed the package, whereas these clowns thought they would crush the little guy, me. Shame on this guy and his crooked company. Not even a we are sorry for the misake and own up to it. Just arrogant! Arrogance breeds arrogance! Id glady send you guys the refunded invoice
I guess sports apparel and sports trading cards are not valuable enough to warrant breaking up this monopoly.... or Rubin has put funds in the right pockets to turn a blind eye.
I understand MJ's team asked med point blue sharpie was to be used. ok, I get that... but a new med point sharpie tip is much thinner than after you use the pen over time.. Based on how wide the sig is, to me, it looks like the sharpie was well used or worn... why not use a brand new Sharpie and tip is fresh... sure, all collectors warm the pen up...(and rookie collectors have pen off cap a long time as they wait and tip dries out and one gets a crummy auto) and have backup pens on the ready. (new ones, fresh out of package) no doubt, all 6 of these 10/10's would be centerpiece of any signed RC collection, so, I fully get that.. but feel the autos could have come out much better and still get 10/10 grades using a fresh out of package Sharpie that is warmed up ahead of MJ signing the cards.
The hobby has out-priced most kids. Seeing videos from the National and seeing kids doing deals with cards that I can't even afford just shows the sad part of current state of the hobby. Most kids involved have been financially supported (at least at the beginning) by adults and that wasn't the case when I was a kid. Packs are way overpriced for what you get.
Fanatics is the old PWCC and they are crooks. So now I never use Fanatics, they already got caught shaving cards and fixing auctions. I know that first hand. NEVER USE FANATICS..
I would love someone to ask whether there was a financial agreement in getting Burbank to switch platforms. You have to assume there was for them to take such a big step.
I'm probably going to go against the grain here, some-what, but I don't like Fanatics' business practices. Competition is GOOD for the hobby, and GOOD for all consumers; shutting out competition (or buying them up), telling vendors where they can and can't sell, and overlording their bread-and-butter card shops doesn't bode well for me (and shouldn't for all who care about the hobby). They are acting like a monopoly, their business practices are aggressive, and they are a platform that I wouldn't want to do direct business with. I wish Rob, and Burbank Cards, all the best; but if Fanatics continue employing the kind of business practices they have been, then I don't wish the same for Fanatics.
for the record I hope fanatics can fix the google search so when you search a card you dont only see ebay. I have been saying this for years that you dont see any cards from the auction houses and I dont have the time or want to search everyone who sells cards. A card with a print run of 100 may be out there but you usually cant find it on google unless its on ebay,,,, hope this gets fixed.
I hope they don’t take over the hobby and try to kill eBay bc I don’t see fan keeping there fees where they are right now but if eBay lowers there’s and we have 2 platforms competing against each other for years to come be great for hobby
