Watched the game from Huddersfield stand. Well done! Deserved win for Northampton. Fought for it harder and were more cohesive. Extremely strong fearless defending. Brilliant clinical passing on the breaks. Number 39 stood out for me. Incredibly strong in the 50 50s, and fought tooth and nail for every loose ball either blocking Hudds attacks, or starting a formidable build up and attack. The ref was awful. Not blaming him at all for Towns loss (I was sat in the home end). He was bad for both teams. He gave throwings wrong way, and people had to appeal to him to make the right decision; changing a corner to a goal kick and then only sending off a player after a full on debate. He also gave away so many free kicks (for both sides) when the opposition fell down. Both sides were capitalising on it. He got the hang of it later in the game though and stopped calling fouls when players just miraculously dropped, started to realize they were all taking the mickey 😂

Hudds fan here, congratulations because you set up very cleverly and out-thought us 100%. You compressed the midfield (our midfield is sh*te) and played a high back line & we were clueless how to get around it or over it. Meantime, all you had to do was float it over our defence (slower than an oil tanker) and stroke it in. Ref was poor but I was right in front of your 3rd goal and I'm afraid our right back got the wrong side and completely messed up. Lad took it well. Good luck for the rest of the season, already a weird division with lots of ups and downs.

Ref had no control I know town time waste at times but that was beyond. Goal keeper spent 10 mins then not going for ball and players rolling around on floor. And worse of all length of time it took to take pen. And the fella going for a drink of goal keepers water 🤦

Yeah, it was easy to think as a relegated club that we’d beat Northampton just because their name doesn’t sound glamorous, we won’t get out of this league, don’t have the side to win promotion I feel, I like L1 so I’ll accept staying down long term. Fair credit for beating us, deservedly so, gave a fight that I didn’t expect from you. You gave me a right laugh today beating us , want to stay down, not a bad league ha 🤣. League One forever! 🤣
