Watching this, I get disgusted by obsessed we all have become with medals and world records and winning and the total medal count and which country is the best. It should just be about the fact that all the countries of the world have come together and that the athletes are simply taking part
The Olympics, ancient and modern, is a competition. Yes, it's about bringing the world together but everyone is coming to compete. I also think there's real comraderie and sportsmanship among the athletes themselves, it's the individual country Olympic committee members, the IOC and leader's of certain countries that have become problems but that's what happens when a competition becomes a business with many millions of dollars involved.

I wonder why is the womenfolks given privilege in almost all ceremonies across world In my culture too, it's so. Is it because men used to do everything behind the scenes since old times , and as a matter of giving them some work gave them some face to few easier work. Another may be since they give birth to new life that being equivalent to god capacity they are thought as more god like or may be their presence is taken as more auspicious but then we too had female infanticides.
