What an incredible run this is from RSL. They needed an added time winner on decision day to even make it into the playoff round of 16 (really round of 12). Then have to come up against the Sounders, knock them out in pens. You’d think the magic would end in Kansas City until Anderson Julio comes on and changes the match. Just when SKC thought they had done enough to take it into extra time, Bobby Wood puts another stoppage time winner past Tim Melia in their own backyard, again. And onto a Timber’s without Dairon Asprilla or Seb Blanco. They have a serious chance. MLS playoffs, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year.”
@@jeffbryant9380 Just lucky? Sorry but no. The supposedly superior teams from the west were really just all talk. RSL vs NER will be the final and NER will finally lift the cup.
As a Sounders fan I am too, but ONLY against Portland 😂 because I'm not a fan of Ochoa. Because of his cockiness. So I'm forced to root East in the final, sadly, either way.
Packed crowd, unpredictable run by RSL, last minute goals the passion, this is why football/soccer is the greatest sport ever no other sport comes close
I love that they said, "RSL masters of the late late goal" and then 10 seconds later they score a winner. Perfect timing and it makes that clip legendary
I'm a Timbers fan but I can't help but respect how RSL has played in these finals. Well done, well deserved. Kudos to Anderson Julio with that game-changing goal. Looking forward to Dec. 4th at the Finals.
RSL played us (Seattle) perfectly. They turtled up because they knew they couldn’t beat us in the possession game. They beat us because they are disciplined and well coached. I’m glad they changed their tactics and beat Kansas City. So awesome. Way to go RSL.
Best part about being a RSL fan in Omaha is I get to wear my Real jersey every time we beat KC and no one can say a word. They just know we have their number every single time. Go RSL!!!
So you won every match this year. Prior years, we beat you every time in the playoffs including in the 2013 final. Don't think you've always had our number
@@benwilliams2780 considering that in 26 meetings since that final you have only won 5 times, I'd say we have it down easily. Best part is, we practically own Children's Mercy too! Only one of those wins was in KC.
I was at this game. Many questionable calls on both teams. However, at the end of the day, we (SKC) blew it on defense. On another note, the playoff atmosphere besides to two RSL goals was incredible. I can't wait for St. Louis City SC in 2023! That will be a huge rivalry. I'll be rooting for Real Salt Lake the rest of the way, though.
The scenes if Salt Lake actually make the final would be crazy, I'm rooting for y'all. Salt Lake out of all the clubs in the Western conference would've been the last club I would've predicted to even be in the playoffs. It's crazy how they made it to the play offs ahead of LA Galaxy, LAFC, Dallas, Houston, and San Jose.
Rsl doesnt stand a chance. Thats what seattle and the commentators said going into seattle. Rsl doesnt stand a chance going to skc. Now rsl doesnt stand a chance going into portland. The final whistle will say it all. Even if portland does win, they were told at the beginning of the season they should be ranked and will finish last in the west. They lost their owner. Then their coach left them. How many times have we seen that happen in this league and the team immediately crashes and falls to the bottom? No matter if they win the whole thing or get knocked out by portland or lose in the final against the east, this team is remarkable for pushing on against all the odds where we have seen so many others fall. Haters can hate all they want. Doesn't change this FACT. Go Rsl!!!
As a relative neutral, glad this came out like it did. SKC was whining the whole time while being more physical than RSL. That late goal by Wood felt like karma.
Couldn't make that up, king of late goals then they go and grab one. If they had more quality I would have picked them as my mls team to support! Still can't decide 🤷♂️
It would also just be the way things go for RSL. Last time they won the cup was also a year that they barely made it to the playoffs. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high, but I'd love to see a 2009 repeat!
Probably one of the most "Organic" rivalries in mls not failing to disappoint. Should be intresting to see if pablo changes tactics against the timbers. Should be a good one none the less.
What an absolutely lazy run by Salloi to defend on that last goal. He just jogged behind Meram. If he ran as hard as he could, he could've challenged him. Deserved loss by SKC.
There is a simple explanation as to why we lost; it was the towels. Get those things out here! That's a Pittsburgh thing. Also quiets the crowd a bit, less clapping more spinning

I think Ochoa, bare minimum should know if the likely players taking a PK on any team have gone 100% to the GK's left. Step your game up if you're going to smack talk at all. Looked like a rookie diving right.
@@streeb986 They said they did their research on Russel’s PK’s (not sure if that’s true) but even if it is, doesn’t mean you should dive to that side 100% of the time. If he’s gone that way every time it’s definitely in the back of his head that he could go the other way. Most keepers probably would have gone the right way but I don’t think that’s really a rookie mistake or anything. Just betting against the streak.
@@haydenhynes2684 I guess that could be, but I'd challenge the idea it's a streak. Unlike a coin-toss, that record is a clear tendency. It's moot at this point but fun to debate.
MIssing two key pieces. Timbers have owned RSl this past season... PAST being the the important word. Playoffs is a new season. I don't think it's very common for one team to beat another 4 times in a row. I hope that Timbers luck against RSL is all played out.
As a Quakes fan, RSL is the only other Western conference team that I like. This run is reminds me of the late winners the 2012 Quakes used to get. I'll like RSL even more if they eliminate Portland.
Реал Солт Лейк был ощутимо сильнее в этом матче. Вся борьба по сути была из-за грубейшей ошибки защитника приведшей к назначению пенальти. Канзас Сити разочаровал уровнем своей игры.
Since the West is knocking out the West this question doesn't mean much until East plays West. All this means is there is quality through the whole Western Conference. But even though I'm a western fan, I don't think the West is necessarily superior.
I think it comes down to the simple football fact that any team can beat any team. As a youth coach, I've won matches & tournaments with less talent because people wrote us off as an automatic win. We study teams and play to our strengths and the opponent's weaknesses. We couldn't beat the Sounders on possession so we turtled and disrupted their attack. Switched it up on SKC and nobody knows what we'll do next
@@kylelecheminant2544 I think you make your own luck, RSL is out working teams and man marking. It's hard to do, you have to sprint to attack and sprint to defend. RSL fan here, so take it with a grain of ... Salt ;)
Hey coach! What more does Anderson Julio and Bobby Wood have to do to earn a starting spot on your team? Rubio Rubin is absolutely worthless as a 9 - slow and completely lost on where to best position on the field. You need to chart a plane to send Pablo Ruiz back to Argentina, Chang to Cuba, Marcelo Silva to Uruguay and Everton Luis to Brazil!!
Pablo has said flat out that Julio only has 60 minutes in him at the max, because he constantly runs his heart out from the second he steps on the pitch. Pablo has gotten around this by making him the super sub 12th man that changes the whole game at the end when all the defenders are tired. Rubin is calculated in his runs, hence why he scored 8 goals this year, Ruiz has improved exponentially since the beginning of the season, Silva is the probably the best defender we have had since Olave and Borchers even with him recently coming back from an injury, and Everton is the second coming of Beckerman with how he has been locking down the midfield, especially towards the end of the season (CONSIDERING HE JUST CAME BACK FROM A CRUCIATE TEAR MIDSEASON). Bobby is specifically playing bench because of his recent injuries before joining the club, and is only really on the bench rn because of the amount of depth RSL have for the first time in YEARS. Please stop pretending to be a fan, because you obviously aren't.
