For those wondering what Ipswich's walkout of the tunnel song is, it is called "Insomia" by "Faithless"! But let's always remember in our hearts the people who sacrificed there lives during war. I love how everybody respects it. ❤
Teams are now confident they can score, which again we didn't defend... Even at the death we just didn't do enough to stop Swansea's 2nd goal. Our goalies are good, the midfield is strong & the strikers, hungry. Stop the leaks at the back & keep knocking them in up front. Defend, I keep saying it. 3pts, though so good for the difficult December. 😊
Love Hirst but he needs to be putting away a few more of those clear cut chances he keeps getting. The rest of his game is top quality though and he deserves to be starting every game. Just 20 mins shooting practise at the end of training will do the trick
It's third time when Ipswich stopped playing against 10 men opponents. Many players switch off, stop chasing back, stop giving their 100% to win the ball back, to hit precise pass, to foul before something dangerous happens. Burgess was first with his almost-an-assist for Swansea that didn't work out thanks to Hladky and then Woolfenden followed with his own piece of shocking defending... well he didn't even tried to defend, he was just around. If he fouls close to the line he would get yellow at most but why bother? To be fair only defender that wasn't awful was Davis. Clarke was great last season but hasn't grow into Championship yet. Williams or Donancien were both better. Hutchinson almost looked like a world class winger with his runs. He did 99% great but then wasted it all when it matters. He can and he will do better just need to focus. Chaplin gets his goal. He deserves it as he always tries to score and get some chances every game. Taylor scored beautiful goal in right time. He was unlucky with a header after which Swansea took the lead. I don't know why Clarke's goal was disallowed. There were some guys holding together but nothing unusual for set pieces. Even Swansea TV commentetors thought it should stand. Ipswich finally got their first penalty. Clear foul but was it in penalty area? Hirst was much better this time and scored a goal but I don't think he's a good penaty taker. Looks like Broadhead and Chaplin didn't wanted to take it this time or it was a McKenna's decision. With Davis and Morsy being other set piece takers, Taylor with a magic foot I would pick them all ahead of Hirst. Luongo is another one but he wasn't on the pitch. Substitutions didn't work out again. Burns looked OK but all of them were either too lazy or not good enough to make it harder for Swansea to come back into the game. But football is a game where goal counts and Ipswich got well deserved win in the end. Another 3 points but Town coaches will have a lot of work to do in international break. Non league defending has to stop.
Can Ipswich improve their defence? They won games but they can’t stop conceding. You think a team who can’t conceding can do well in the premier league?
How many chances did we create should have won that game comfortably…and the penalty that was awarded was the softest of all the penalty shouts we had in the match 🤣🚜⚽️
