Rugby Football League have massively over reacted to the threat of law suits from players from a different time and destroyed the game with 2 or 3 cards a match. Crowds will keep declining because the product they tell us is amazing is actually garbage under these rule. Losing my love for it.
Gus Gould summed it up he said its a high end contact sport if its not for you then choose something else ,and crying wolf on your fellow professionals for financial gain is only going to sink the ship even further
yes people should realise that rugby is a dangerous sport and people like it the way it is ,you never hear people saying boxers should stop punching to the head
Hard fought win for Wigan, Cas put up a good effort considering they were down to 12 men for 20 mins of the game. Still questions over Wigan's middle defense and left edge goal line defense, but hopefully turned a corner now after that thumping at Catalans
I mean, two main forwards out due to suspension, Thornley injured from the first game and Bibby unwell. The squad is currently in a state of flux, really with those injured and missing.
@@IanHardmanPhotography you were playing against 12 and still struggled , thornley missing oh ye such a major absentee, be lucky to make the play offs Wigan
Re the sinbinning. The action of him touching the ball as it was passed stops his arm from grabbing the player effectively making it a shoulder charge.
Stop talking rubbish, you sound like a union fan. It's perfectly acceptable to go for the ball in league and always had been, and you've never seen a shoulder charge of you think the contact was. It was a ridiculous decision
@rhinosmot they're not being asked to apply stupid rules they just have no idea what they're looking at because they are without doubt the worst officials in professional sport. But it all comes down yet again to the incompetence of the RFL in how they introduced these changes and not training refs properly and 4 rounds in its clear they're simply not addressing it because they're useless
this new set of rules around the high tackles is getting ridiculous I get red cards will be handed out for bad tackles but this is just plain ruining the game players dernt commit to tackles it’s killing the game as a spectator sport in my eyes If a bad tackle is committed giv them red cards and game bans but sometimes if you have played the game urself it can be a case of a player changing angles just before contact that can make the tackle awkward stop the red and yellow card for the slightest contact or players won’t play with the intensity that is needed and wanted from specckys
You only have to look at the size of crowds to see that this new regime is killing the sport .Bums on seats is what counts who wants to pay all that money to see one team being reduced to 12 men and in some cases 11 . Unless there is a change of mindset the game is dead in the water
Great game. Cas came back well. The tough stance on foul play was overdue. All the players know the rules so if they can’t abide by them, that’s their problem. I'm looking forward to the dinosaurs who still think head shots are acceptable, that’s appalling. If it’s not the game you love anymore, then off you go. If the game didn’t get tough on it, there wouldn’t be a game as in this modern world, duty of care has to be part of the way things are done. A damaged brain for the rest of an ex-player’s life is unacceptable.
Highlights | Wigan Warriors v Castleford Tigers, Round 6, 2022 Betfred Super League 0912am 18.3.22 18.3.22 0918am still a stuttering wigan but... better a win than a drubbing, eh?
The red was fair because it was a swinging arm to the head and even though there wasn’t that much force it’s really dangerous. The yellow was pathetic though.
Was st the match. Yellow card no one agreed with (I'm a Wigan fan) The red was a red all day just because Isa didn't roll around on the floor to highlight it doesn't mean it wasn't a wreckless highshot to the head.
This sport is becoming a laughing stock. I have watched rugby for 33 years and I have never known it to be in the state it is in today. That yellow card was simply pathetic (not a Wigan or Cas fan), he was commited, no malice, no direct head contact. They need to get this sorted, or just change it to tag
I’m still trying to figure out why Wigan got a penalty when Leuluia tripped himself up and feigned injury, once he lost the ball he sat up pretty quick…cheating bar steward.
