It doesn't matter what your story is. This song is so powerful. You can feel the emotions. They are so intense. We can all relate to falling in love. Giving our all. Thank you HS.
Four years later, here we are. I have the ONLY live video of the only time this song was ever performed, in Chicago of course! I hope you all enjoy it, this was (as stated in the description) my first show, at age 17. I cannot describe what a moment and turning point it was for my life. Cheers!
in a recent interview, Johnny had said he only played this song once live, and in front of the girl he wrote it about...guessing its this video. what a video
I don't even want to know how much time I've spent watching this video and the one of Lydia at the Grammys 😂. Probably way too much. Two of my favorite live performances from this amazing band 🤘🤘.
Highly Suspect is in town in like two days, but I can’t go because of work. So, I came to this side of RU-vid. Glad I did. This is my favorite song from them.
His voice cracking after the guy is like, "just marry her already"? Jeeze. Anybody else get choked up at some of their songs, just wishing those two could work shit out? This one and Bloodfeather really get me. I get it-- and I kinda wish I didn't. Fuck.
I came here to say basically the same thing. Even though HS hasn't been around for a long time their shit hits different. Like Johnny is an old soul or something.
I'm happy to hear! This video had a copyright strike for the better part of a year, but I still have the only video of the only performance of this song. I'm glad I can spread it, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching
So not just you. I've been crushing on this song for a week, and it sort of felt like a sad song, but then I see this video and realize how sweet of a song it is, and how positive. The way Johnny keeps looking to her while he's singing, it is effing beautiful
@@SylviaChao93070 me too! He just bares his soul & you can't help but feel it. I am so glad I found this band. I'm a fucking old lady (59) & I can relate to almost every damn song.
Im assuming he broke up with Madison because he just publicly broke up with a girl named Jade on twitter like 5 months ago. Hope he finds the right one someday.
I think there's still hope for them! He seemed to really love her...and if it was true, soul crushing, all consuming passionate love, then he can hook up with every chick in the world, but the memory of Madison & that love, will always be there!!
They started dating in 2015. He was 29. She was 19. In the song 16 he was 16 years old when it all went down. So Madison was 6. So that would be a no, it's not about her.
Why am I fucking up so bad? What am I even doing? When am I ever gonna learn? What it is she already knows Baby, I met you in downtown Chicago But I, I had to drive away the very next day So I, flew your pretty ass to New York City Then I, I left you in L.A Was it love or my fantasy? Was it real or just a dream? Remember one night getting too fucked up in the Hamptons at Tom's I fell off his bike, and girl, you laughed at me so hard Spent a whole week getting drunk on the dunes of Cape Cod, that's when you met my father Was it love or my fantasy? Was it real or just a dream? Was it love or my fantasy? Cause sometimes you get so angry And I take it personal And I should've known That you were only hurting Cause life can be uncertain When you're only 19 years old So it's another late night out here in California And I'm, I'm burying my pain into somebody else And now you're back at home living with your mama Got my first record sitting on your shelf Was it love or my fantasy? Was it real or just a dream? Was it love or my fantasy? Was it real? Well baby I met you in downtown Chicago But I, had to drive away the next day So I, flew your pretty ass to New York City Then I, I left you in L.A (I'm taking you back, & I'm never letting you get away)
I honestly don’t know who broke up with who but, if she broke up with him she’s so foolish. Unless he’s some big cheater or something I can’t see doing that to him. This is honestly the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen. Him playing this for her and singing it to her in front of all these people. Telling her before he starts playing that she’s the love of his life. Wow! Just wow! Damn, it’s really deep.
Babe thats the whole point to be able to sing along with your favorite songs and artist but when there screaming and you can't hear the artist thsts a different story because there not singing along anymore there trying to over power them which is annoying af
I thought that too, but I talked to him outside of their concert in Houston recently and he assured me they're two different people (both true stories though).
He refused to do it Omaha years ago after not performing together for quite some time. We were the first city on the tour. He was gracious enough to get his “ i’m a woke liberal asshole and everything wrong in the world is because of the white man speech. Worst live show I’ve seen and unfortunately it was also the first time seeing them live. Love the albums but the rest is trash.
