Respectfully I wish she would’ve let him talk more, she kept bringing all of the topics back to herself. Sometimes it’s okay to have silence. This interview could’ve been way more interesting.
Fr bro. How the hell are you an interviewer that asks " is there anything else youd like to talk about?" like what???? thats your job. Theres not that many interviews of johnny out there and i was so stoked to watch this but Caity you missed bad.
I think you guys are reading into it way too deep. I think this was a perfect laid back interview. They were relating to eachother n just having a conversation rather than an interrogation, which is what most interviews feel like. I’m sure he has more in depth interviews out there about his whole life, but it’s good to hear how he’s living every now and again
"I want people out there to hear me...." And then she goes off a tangent about her.... She's not a fucking rockstar he is making her show..... Who is this chick???? Johnny is miserable this who entire interview....I wouldn't have been offended if she asked how or why he gained so much weight?
@@donpablo2170 He's clearly still depressed. I can tell you're a male. You guys always do that suck it up sh**. That's why men k*ll themselves the most. There is nothing wrong with men tapping into emotions, other than anger. Like what's wrong with you?
She continues to put herself in the same category as Johnny when clearly she is just a VJ and Johnny is an actual artist in the industry. One that can write and compose music is in a league far higher than this lady. But what I love about this conversation being a discourse analyst is that Johnny doesn't challenge or overstep this obvious disproportion. He allows her to be an equal even though she's clearly not within that industry. Also she is clearly dominating the conversation overstepping his answers to her questions. Not allowing him to finish answering her questions at times. And then Johnny is actually asking her questions at times where he does active listening even when she veers off the topic of the question and doesn't really answer the question There's a little bit of frustration that Johnny is exhibiting yet he doesn't outwardly show it to the point of making anyone in the conversation uncomfortable or the audience I know a lot of people believe Johnny is vain, full of himself and somewhat narcissistic. My observation is he's clearly not that type of person, because when his control of this conversation is threatened he does not try to re-establish that control. Does not become passive aggressive and continues to be inviting to the person that is clearly trying to control the conversation. He's clearly an empath and Savage as fuck
Let the man talk woman! I don't know who you are I'm here for johnny, I mean no harm by that but maby as an interviewer try saying "I or me" much less.. Still a cool chat though, thank you very much. P.s sounds like your a huge advocate for mental health, appreciate that shit! Great to hear
Johnny is one of the best artists of his generation for sure. He puts so much emotion into everything he does, and to hear be so honest about what he's going through makes me appreciate and love him more. His music has helped me a ton over the years and I hope to get more help over the years!! Keep rapping, keep singing, and keep being yourself! We love ya man!!
These young interviewers should study Dick Cavett. He interviewed some of the most iconic musicians in the late ‘60’s and early ‘70’s, Janis Joplin, David Bowie, John Lennon..he in fact interviewed Janis twice, and then she was dead, those interviews are a vital historical archive, because he allowed Janis to speak for herself..you see who she was, and where she was musically and culturally. If you haven’t watched any Dick Cavett interviews, do. And Johnny, it’s good to see you back. Your music helped me through a rough patch, just after I was diagnosed with CPTSD, with severe depression and anxiety and had simply just shut down and was thinking that I really should just give up and die..I was just going through RU-vid trying to find new rock music and stumbled upon Bath Salts, and although my condition wasn’t substance related, I related absolutely to the lyrics and the music video and it was electric guitar, drum and bass and a great singer..it made me feel less alone, and relit a spark of hope and life in this old school rock chick. In fact Serotonia, Black Feather, Little One, Lydia, My Name Is Human, your songs put life back into me, and made me start to feel things again, because a whole lot of really bad things happened over a very short time period, on top of a lifetime of dv and I had just shut down emotionally..you were so open and honest in your songs about what was happening to you, mentally and emotionally, and you reached a lot of people, plus you rocked!!! You are a very special, gifted person, and the world is a better place for having you in it..go out there and do what you do best..reach the people who have become separated from themselves in some way, through loss, grief, anxiety, depression, relationship endings..and rock on!!!
Hell yeah! Thank you for trying to teach these kids about history. Old music, artist and history are fascinating and WAY better than what we have today.
There's Soo many questions to ask Johnny about his music, his influences, what gives him motivation for writing, why he's gained 25-35 lbs suddenly🧐, he's a very intriguing guy but I didn't learn much from this interview besides that this interviewer loves her job but sucks at it and Johnny is totally miserable besides his music and touring.
He said in Denver 2021 he injured his foot and that was his cause of weight gain. I saw them Thursday night in st. Louis... definitely still doing drugs LOL. Dude did a fat bump of coke on stage.
@Roy Jameson man it's kind of a give and take with them having seen them throughout the years. Musically they are phenomenal. But you can definitely tell the band is about having fun with each other almost as much as it is performing for the audience. Stopping in the middle of the most exciting parts of songs, setting his guitar down to go get a drink and a bump, constantly hugging his bandmates a little too close, I don't give a fuck but it's just weird mid song, getting through a song a little more sloppy than it needs to be..... I got a set list and pick and they only played about 12 songs with Encore. If they weren't fucking around so much they could have fit at least five more songs for us.... Great show. It's just like..I would appreciate if they got more into the music instead of fucking around w each other. Last time they played the wolf and melted my face off. This time they played a bunch of metal that had the crowd moving but not exactly my favorite Tunes. They skip little one which bums me out. They played canals like right off the bat which was fucking awesome. I wish they had the drive and focus they had in 2015 with the talent and expertise they play with now. Was a good show. I think last Pointfest here in St Louis was better. The Denver show was killer but I was having girlfriend issues so I was a little distracted 🙄
Me and Johnny are so different but are so much the same. Thank you for the song fly was one big thing that helped me get sober. I am for sure connected to him somehow and helps me feel like there is more to us than we know.
Excited to hear more from Johnny and what he thinks and has experienced. If not in an interview like this that cut him off then in what he chooses to share in his music. Mom got me hooked wayy back saying what I didnt have words for.
He's basically telling her that he wants more out of life than just being known as a 'musician'. And that he's an actual person that has more to offer than just supplying music.
Your answer is not "the" answer. For those of us that haven't been given any signs or evidence of an all powerful creator it doesn't have any meaning or relief.
@@StickHits I went on a date a month ago and the chick was a Jesus freak and she told me how Jesus was the only answer... I hate people who say such things like people that are having hard times haven't thought about God and anything else that can help them. His lyrics indicate that he has called out to God but he heard nothing except the devil calling his name, tongue in cheek lyrics but he wrote them
You might not know what your purpose is….but you’ve gotten me through so many hard times in my life. That’s why you guys have been my favorite band for 10 years. I just connect with your music on a deeper level. I love you guys always and I’m thankful you came into my life ❤ your purpose is providing music to people that need it the most in their lives. Keep doing you 😊
My brother, that is depression in itself. We feel this desperation for something. Even when we look at our lives and tell ourselves that we shouldn't feel this way. There's nothing WRONG with you. But you are struggling man, and it isn't wrong to feel unfulfilled when everybody around you is telling you you don't have a reason. I would definitely suggest you find an unbiased party to speak with about it.
Please teach people how to interview and let their guests talk and LISTEN. Instead of her monologues, she should have been asking questions and listening.
Caity, nice interview. Would you please stop saying the word ‘like’ when you don’t need to. Like do you like know what like I mean? I dare you to listen to your own interview!
The interviewer is quite shallow IMO, she's turning everything back to herself or she's including herself as an equal in the music industry compared to Johnny If Johnny expressed that he was having some issues of depression she would turn that back around and include herself in that or become an equal to Johnny, when she is clearly not
@@DanTheAnalyst the fact that Johnny is overweight in this interview shows he is dealing with depression and how he basically backs off her questions when she has a good come back... He's like nah I'm miserable and she's like yea but you're awesome and he's like 🙄 yea you're like everyone else that thinks everything is okay, Johnny has mental problems and this was a good chance for him to discuss those but she ruined it, what else do you expect from Sirius radio?
@@royjameson2097 yeah, I saw HS in Orlando, FL in February 2020 literally a few weeks before the pandemic hit, and he seem to be indecent shape but a little a few pounds extra was about it. I'm sure that he has issues with depression impossible unresolved childhood trauma that he just has dealt with to this point. Certainly explains the self medicating of the past. Johnny is a bad boy and bad boys are damaged empaths. Bad boys are not the typical alpha male, those are men on the other side that pose as bad boys but they're not, they're bad guys
@@DanTheAnalyst yea I've lived most of my life as a 'bad boy' until recent years and it leaves you in an almost vacant place, it gets lonely after the party's over and no one's around unless there's substance's. People seem to all be fake and purpose is seemingly hopeless. I could only imagine how much shit Johnny has been around and is still alive honestly. He was on tour with Scott Weiland when he overdosed and passed away.
Who is this broad and why is she talking to my man? 😂 His voice and lyrics are just soooo soothing. I hope that he finds Jesus soon, I want to hug him in heaven and listen to his music forever ❤
Just saw Highly suspect play in Melbourne and they sounded epic, i will admit i had'nt been following them recently so when Johnny walked on stage to me he was unrecognizable i though man he must have been through some %$#* hearing this interview confirms that hope he gets through and keeps making awesome music
Hey lady, not here to hear about you lol no offense but do that on a solo episode. Wanted to hear more about the artist not you, turned me off to the rest of your content honestly
At the end she ask’s him “ Is there anything else YOU want to talk about?” LMAO. 😂😂😂 Girl, you didn’t really let him talk about anything throughout the majority of the interview. Kudos’ to him for the level of patience he had with this jabber jaw woman. LOL
Beautiful man. ❤ John, I hope you always feel the love that surrounds you. I've been on the edge of that cliff. You never walk alone. 🙋♀️💞 I'm always cheering you on. 🧏♀️
I thought Johnny was going to be the saviour of rock after he’s first 2 albums which blew me away. Especially the one that wasn’t released which imo is their best. It’s a shame he got all those ring tone rapper face tatts and let himself go. I still wish him all the best
So so so impressed with Pink Lullaby and I just got really excited when you mentioned it’s something you’d like to lean into EEEEKKK!!!! I’ve been wanting to see you guys for years and just got my tickets yesterday WOOHOO!! New Zealand baby! See ya there!! 🤘
I like this guy... I might be wrong, but I feel their song " My Name Is Human " is about people trying to create robots to replace mankind is silly, we come from the stars, physically, even if we don't realize that now.
Respectfully, this is so real. Being in that "element" of performing that brings out the true purpose is the purpose in itself. None of us have control, it's an illusion. Perspective is everything. It's really not necessary to be this or that, the idea is just to "BE."
3 minutes in and I’m wondering who is the interviewer and who is the person being interviewed? Ask questions lady!! Then let the man speak. In other words, shut up. Lol
He’s real. Solid. Human. She’s great too. But…she talks waaay more than him. It’s an interview. She took over a bit and made it more about her stories.
I hope Johnny can figure things out and not end up like so many other Artists that ultimately take their own lives. Life is a blessing so keep battling your demons.
That’s the secret here actually. I was super liberal most of my life and ALWAYS depressed. I finally moved away from cities, became a lot more conservative and lived a more wholesome life back to the roots and I feel 100% better. The drugs and sex and fast life is not it man.
She is right about you're writing, i resonate with the pain, you write honestly and can feel what your laying down. Especially fly johnny. Dude you wrote my story. Makes me realise I'm not the only one with these thoughts. It's your intellect and true heart that's leaving you feeling that empty hole, the truth is most people don't really have an honest heart. Without that true connection, it just feels lonely and hollow.
Johnny I don’t know if I would be here if you gave up. I am so glad your here and I am so glad your putting your gift out there .. I feel like my soul knows yours
Also I think he doesn’t feel like he’s “made it” because he veered off from what made him a staple in the music community. What put them on the map. I think that had he kept on that trajectory he was on with that style of music, that he and his band mates would have brought back rock to a major stage again and perhaps start the next rock resurgence. Philosophically, I feel like we’re here to struggle and that’s what true growth comes from. Bad struggles and not so bad struggles, but it makes us grow. And when we’re growing, we’re happy or wholesome. There’s nothing quite like going through a struggle and surviving it or coming out on top!! Never stay comfortable! Once you’re comfortable with being uncomfortable, you will accomplish more than you believe you can.
i just called the number and got a response, but as soon as i said i wasnt feeling suicidal now, they dropped my call..............johnny, wtf, im a songwriter AND i relate 1000 percent with your life even though i dont know shitn about you, but through your music i see myself.....love you bro
