I was surprised to see how many liked my mod Village Homes. I made it because I felt there should be buildings and farms in the locations I chose. I decided to make them abandoned - so they were all available to the player from the start of the game. The dragon priest sanctuary got an update to be more realistic too.
Just from the few seconds of footage i can tell the accuracy to Depth of the Reach's areas is great, i recognized near all those places instantly, and its cool to see them in Skyrim
7:51 - It's great that Spelltome Studies is compatible with Spell Research, which makes it more interesting as, even if there's now a challenge level to learning a spell, the mod itself is still treated as a one-and-done. Alongside Spell Research you now have to study the tome multiple times in order to learn it's effects.
The spelltome mod is something I've thought about, I always felt it was weird how I could just spam learn a bunch of bought tomes in an instant, it feels lackluster. Something else I've always found weird about tomes is how they get destroyed when you learn them, how does that make any sense? I wonder if the mod tackles that as well
I really wanted to like Ryn's mods and gave them all a try. Many conflicted with other mods I already had installed and others just weren't "different" enough from Vanilla to make them worth it... Back to playing my 1000+ mod playthrough...
@@slipstream7324 Well, if you chose an option with Perk you could check that the perk is in Enchanting skill tree. Otherwise, you'd need to obtain few soul gems, any stalhrim weapon, any existing weapon with frost damage. Take the perk, learn frost enchantment and try to apply it to stalhrim weapon (don't enchant, just look at numbers in menu) then check on some iron dagger or what you'll have. Stalhrim should have higher damage. Any combo from mod description will do: Fire - Ebony, Fire - Dwemer, Shock - Elven. Also, I didn't port the mod to Xbox, so idk who did and what it looks like :D
We need a dope character voiced by you with a interesting story and quest that will run with some of the vanilla, main quest through the game. Not necessarily a follower but will have interactions and sometimes follow through some of the story to push it forward.
I'm glad I found Spelltome Studies because of this video. It's a great alternative if stuff like Spell Research seems too complex to be fun. It's a permanent stay in my modlists now
8:53 >tfw you resto-enchant-loop'ed a piece of armor to fortify alteration strength, so when studying backfired, you're paralyzed for a hundred years and Tamriel is doomed
Have you published your mod list for either B-roll shots or for just regular gameplay ? I have just gotten into modding with nexus and was looking for a immersive mod list that updates the game visually and gameplay wise (for example Valhalla combat)
I have a question Doctor Nostalgia, my understanding of mods is novice but I still struggle with many things, although this isnt within the formats that you use for your vidoes would it be possible to make videos that revolve around downloading specific mods that you enjoy? For example, how to download and use different animation mods + your personal ones that you use. But the one I want to see the most would be like how to download embs and stuff, especially "EMB Light"; it always seems to break my game because I never install it properly due to there being a lack of intructural guides on how to do so. Love your videos, and I am just spitting out ideas that I would personally like to see. Thank you for your time and videos; so far, I have found more than one mod that I liked for each of these video formats, so if you are enjoying this format, keep it up (at your own personal pace that brings you joy)! Thank you for your time, and have a good day 😊
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I don't currently have any plans to do the type of videos you're suggesting, but It's something I'll definitely keep in mind.
Buddy, I pruned my subscription off few days ago, and I just subscribed you. Know what I'm saying right? I'm preparing my own channel but not on this ID and not about Skyrim. But I know how hard RU-vidr's life is. And I like your editing and the conception, so keep going and hope you will get your own fruit someday :)
The mod showcases are extremely well done, but I'm curious, where do you find the armor sets the characters wear? They are super unique! There's one from a previous video that reminds me of a mashup between DS2 Faraam armor and Witcher 3 bear armor
My wife and I played skyrim a lot well before we ever met and I was wanting to play it again using the skyrim together mod. Is there a quick way to get not only that mod but a couple more to make skyrim feel like a new experience? I went through the trouble of getting a bunch of mods on my computer, but it took quite a while and it wasn't super easy to keep track of that many mods. I would love it if there was a mod pack that I could easily get on mine and my wife's computer. I haven't played skyrim in years and I don't keep up with all the mods that much, but I would love a video on something like this.
@@DoctorNostalgiaMods Everytime I come back to Skyrim, which seems like ever 2-ish years, I just want to experience all the cool expansion content people put into the game. Dont get me wrong, I enjoy TDM as much as the next guy, but so many mods are only aimed at improving graphics instead of truly giving us new expansive stories or fleshing out smaller sidequests to make them epic in their own right. These mods ad so much richness to the world of Tamriel, but it feels like 99% of mods are always big booba waifus or small QOL changes like Peepholes. I do guess its harder to showcase story mods as they have so much content. I just wish somewhere kept track of them all with a summary for each so I could know whats new and worth the effort of playing.
Imagine if game developers made updates like some mod makers do.. people would've paid through the nose for this kind of added content if it was behind a pay wall.
I'm using Improved camera for those scenes. The mod is still in beta you can find it here: www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/10rg5fi/improved_camera_se_preview_release_5_159716353/
Do you know if Depths of the Reach is compatible with ESO imports? If so then combining those 2 mods would bring the ultimate ESO lore accurate Skyrim experience
I finally got skse64 working right, and now on a fresh start my character gets stuck running in place at the chopping block. No matter what console commands I use, I can't get it to move.
@@SandGentleman I can’t say I blame you, I’ve yet to play that game but it looks incredible. Nice to hear you’ll be coming back on the scene soon though
@David Messina you want the older version of the file, found on the file download page. The current version is buggy so the mod author recommends using the previous version in the meantime.
