Everything people worked for with their blood, sweat and tears during good times and bad, swept away like a thief during the darkness. Lives swept in the wild currents. All there is left is each other, the survivors who rescued others , fed them clothed them and sheltered from the wreckage from the elements of nature. Their day shall come of more blood, sweat and tears, just like their ancestors who made this paradise their home. They will live strong, with courage and they will be undefeated.

It's interesting how in this video and during the flooding in Houston you always see a few buildings built up on a platform above the flood level. Seems like they were all built right after the last flood and then folks forgot about the water getting to that level in the area.

People with money can do about anything. People that do not have much do what they can.

@@legendvalley It's not about money it's about who is building the house looking at the 100year flood level and building above it. It's not new issue it's just a repeated one that hasn't happened in a while. It's just 100 year planning is not prioritized in construction efforts. Every flood you see with one house built on a build-up of land above the flood knew about the issue when it was built. Everyone that didn't build on a rise it either didn't know or ignored it.

The KY River crested 6 feet higher than it ever has historically. This ain't Texas. There's not enough flat land in these areas to build a convenience store. Consider saving your critique and pray or supporting the folks instead... trust me they've been surviving here since the late 1700s without your critique.

@@joeanon3888 I feel for the folks there but if we don't learn from events we just repeat them. They survived plenty of floods since 1700's my family is from KY and the floods are not new. This area lost 68 folks back in 1999. www.weather.gov/jkl/flooddeathhistory. Never seen is not never happened before. Higher levels are just the same issue with an exclamation mark. I feel for all these folks that get wrapped up in these deep waters. The loss of life is horrible.

so your saying the tops of the mountains would have absorbed all that water, your an idiot!!! read the national weather service reports. then go out and disconnect your power lines, gas lines and water lines
