I used to watch this show on TV Land when I was between 8 and 14. I was really into those classic shows, but this was one of my favorites. It made me laugh & cry and think about the important things, I remembered it fondly. It's been over a decade, and I haven't been able to find this show anywhere anymore... except today, I just decided to check RU-vid. To think, it was here all along! And every bit as good as I remember. Maybe better, since now I'm 30 and I've lived through my share I can appreciate the content of this more fully. Man, they really don't make shows like this anymore.
I'm not religious or anything, but this show has a moral compass that I can relate to. I'm sure that lots of people agree. I also enjoy "Touched By an Angel" for the same reasons.
I can't get enough of this show. I used to watch it with my dad when I was a teenager. Victor French reminded me of my dad My father also died of cancer in 1989, he was the same age as these men. It also was very sudden. Four months after diagnosis. I felt terrible seeing Michael Landon go through it. It felt like another deep loss I wish these men were still alive today and still making this wonderful show
Vic im very sorry for the tragic loss of your dad. I know first hand how heartbreaking it is to lose a loved one from cancer. My husband died in 2003 from cancer, only 17 days after diagnosis. My mother had died only 6 wks before that. We lost my dad 5 yrs ago to brain cancer and within 2 mos my nephew ,also from cancer. I live in North Alabama close to the Tenn River and all those plants that operate along the river are still dumping their toxic chemicals and wastewater into it. There are a lot more deaths and birth defects ,among other illnesses ,in this area. We have statistically more than our fair share. They impose fines every so often but the MSM loses interest and it gets pushed under the rug when a new story pops up they deem more important. There have been times residents were told to not drink or cook with tap water or feed to animals and to use bottled water instead. We have also been told not to eat the fish caught from the river. I know there are dif types of cancer and not all of the lives lost in this area have been directly related to these plants, but i feel the majority has. I pray they will find a cure one day for all cancers ,hopefully we will see it happen in our lifetimes. God bless you and your family and may you find comfort thru prayer and Gods eternal love. Amen🙏
Did you know Micheal Landon and his partner Victor French, both worked on Little House on Prairie, but...it was land that had chemical waste on it, exposing them for almost a decade of working there...both died of cancer at the same age...54. Just like this show we just watched.
i watched this episode as a kid when it aired and i've never forgotten it. it's always stuck with me the ending of him dying in the chicken suit and then him coming back to life
Someone pointed out elsewhere in the comments that *angelos* was Greek for "messenger". That's why the phrase "angel of the Lord" - they're messengers of God. You don't need to be a supernatural being to be a messenger of God. So there's no reason Michael Landon couldn't be one. :D
I've never forgotten as a kid when that episode/scene aired as a kid for me,him in the chicken suit dying, and then him coming back to life on the beach 😢😭
This series was made in the 70's or 80's but it's a whole different world to nowadays - friends still really loved each other. Nowadays, that's not allowed any more. When I cried over a former friend, who had turned out to be an abuser, but who I had loved very dearly and believed to be a good man (until his actions proved otherwise), I got told that I'm just another stupid, hysterical and gullible woman. Because I loved my friend and was (and still am) heartbroken over the loss of the friendship. So loving someone makes one "mentally ill" now. Loving a friend can now only possibly mean that one is "unstable, hysterical and stupid" and that one "needs to be medicated" . I don't know what shocks me more - that, or the fact that people are too blind to see what sort of a demonic world we are now living in, where good is considered evil, and evil is considered good.
WE NEED TO DO RIGHT BY HUMANITY ALSO TO BE RIGHT IN GOD'S EYES - LOVE AND FORGIVE - THIS SERIES HELPS SOFTEN OUR HEART TOWARDS OUR FELLOW MAN SO WE MIGHT LEARN PEACE AND FULFILLMENT IN LIFE
I agree with you but remember The Battle is worst than we think there’s no way we are going to make it living in this world according to our lord Jesus Christ So see we are already death defeated and we are going to loose this body that was Our Lord Jesus Christ plan who ever wants to keep his life in this world will loose it but who ever loose it for our lord Jesus Christ morality manners will gain eternal life In the meantime we keep fighting and praying 🙏🏼 that The Rapture happens soon and the Judgement wrath whichever happens first Sincerely Alfonso here from north 🙏🏼✅🤗🙏🏼
“Highway to Heaven” took on three important issues relating to humankind: 1) our relationship with God 2) our relationship with our fellow man 3) our relationship with our environment.
I'm not a tree hugger but this is a serious problem. I worked in industry as a maintenance man, repairing, designing and building industrial machines and as plant electrician for 22 years and they almost killed me with their chemicals.
I'm glad to see a Black woman that liked this show, I thought my mom was the only Black woman that liked this show in the late 80s, I remember her always watching this movie,it made me to start watching it, she passed in 05, She was a Great Woman.
Did you know Micheal Landon and his partner Victor French, both worked on Little House on Prairie, but...it was land that had chemical waste on it, exposing them for almost a decade of working there...both died of cancer at the same age...54. Just like this show we just watched. No joke. O_o
Forgiveness is the intentional and voluntary process by which a victim undergoes a change in feelings and attitude regarding an offense, and overcomes negative emotions such as resentment and vengeance (however justified it might be).
Boy, Jonathon really got into it this time. I thought this was a strange episode because of the extremes he and the Boss put him through, right up to his presumed death and resurrection. I do wonder if the people he encountered in this town remembered him afterwards, and also how far news of the death of a crazy "bird-man" named Jonathon Smith reached into other areas he went into later in the series.
Wow, I had no idea Paul Walker was a child star. Since when do angels bleed? Even if he didn't have "the stuff" he was still an angel and therefore shouldn't bleed.
typical for the era, trying to see the best in every one even though if every one was like this the world would die it still made for great tv, the one thing that makes us human is we are ying and yang... But no denying he touched the hearts of a generation with this and little house , all great tv when tv was in its hayday.
This episode hit close to home for me. I live in an area next to the river where plants operate. Theyve been caught ,and fined, for dumping chemicals and wastewater back into the river. Even tho the companies say theyve cleaned it up theres still something going on when they tell area residents not to drink the water or cook with it and to not eat the fish from the river. When Browns Ferry nuclear plant was in full operation fishermen would catch deformed fish in the river. If we dont take care of our planet it will be totally destroyed within the next 3-4generations,maybe even sooner.
Erin Brockovich is still taking on cities with poisoned water. She's currently representing a small town in Texas- I believe it's Crosby. I always wonder why she doesn't go after HUD slumlord tenements. We sure as hell can't drink the water in these slums. Even my cat got sick from the water. The town that was featured in Erin Brockovich the movie has also gotten poisoned water again after the settlement & Erin had to represent that very same town again. It's a crying shame. When I worked for the government, the EPA never followed the rules. They always took bribes to "look the other way". When I worked at PW&E, I saw the water "treatment" plant for the City of Houston. Besides cheap methods & lack of quality control, the humongous vats of water were not covered, there was only a chain link fence around it all & anybody could just toss something over the fence or climb it & dump poison into the water. You always hear that bottled water is tap water, but I"ll take my chances with that vs. what's coming out of the tap. When hurricanes flood Texas/LA/Ms, so many toxins get washed up & around. In particular, whatever chemicals were used to embalm people would get mixed in with the flood waters. If you look it up, you can find reports for the Morton/Lubbock areas of Texas where they tested the lakes after a flood. They were all declared unsafe to drink, fish or swim in. The general public doesn't really think about those things. Even though I told my sister about it because they have a boat, they act like nothing's wrong, go swimming, eat the fish, etc.
i say this. people are scared, hunger scares people. but the unknown scares people more. i can not make you a better person. but i will try to make myself a better person, and hopefully u can also be a better person. climate can be real, i do not know. but pollution is for sure real. if you are reading this please try everyday.
R.I.P Paul Walker Lived: Sep 12, 1973 - Nov 30, 2013 (age 40) - A Special Love: Part 2 (1986) ... Todd Bryant - A Special Love: Part 1 (1986) ... Todd Bryant - Birds of a Feather (1985) ... Eric Travers
missed this episode. Very sad to get ppl to pay attention to the Environment around you. Take a look around you now. Look at the sky to see it. It hits home for today's issues. Erin Brockovich ring a bell?
Lmao when he held up the dead birds to the blonde and she jumped back 🤣 i knw its not funny that they're dead but its hilarious that he scared her with them
Unfortunately, nothing has changed since then. Even today, factory companies continue to pollute our environment, with all the industrial waste that is dumped into our water sources.
I was raised Catholic (bailed due to all the hypocrisies), and one thing I never understood - Why is there so much focus on just the death of Jesus? If the point of him dying was to save us, and through his life and teachings he showed us how to live in order to gain entrance to heaven...wouldn't it make sense that, much like Jonathon in this episode, He had to die because we were too dense to "get" it? If he hadn't had such a horrific ending, would people even think about him twice? Again, why isn't the focus on his life? Too few, who profess to believe in Him and love Him, seem to live his teachings. Far too many these days are twisting the Bible to justify hate and anger instead, claiming they are speaking for God. IDK why, but it all makes me so incredibly sad. 🕊️
Very interstting movie there is a lot for all of us to do before we leave this Panet before we return to our heavenly home to be with our father in heaven and account for our misdeeds….that we try to live on
In this episode and two others a upcoming aspiring actor Paul Walker is mentioned.. Paul is well known for The Fast And The Furious movie movie franchise and as well as other indie and nón indie films outside the the fast and the furious film franchise that ain’t him no no no no it fcuking can’t be
What comes to mind: Why are we even having to fight for clean water? well , WELL' pun intended and I quote: *“Nestlé Chairman: Water Not a Right, Should Be Given a ‘Market Value’ and Privatized.”* smh.. Gen 6:5 PS: did you know it is ILLEGAL for an American citizen to collect their own rain water. fro example.. soooooooo?!
Cedric Sharpe - But Trump was put in place by God, he is not just a man. He is a deity, a Saint, and we should pray through Trump and Jesus every time to approach God in prayer.
@@Erin-Thor If you think Trump is a deity or saint to pray to, you're just as mentally ill as those who think Trump is the devil! Trump was a great president and a good man but he's no saint. Pray to Jesus or God only, that's what the Bible teaches us.
@@Erin-Thor thats contrails. They dissipate. Chemtrails are very real i'm afraid. Please look into it. Condemnation without investigation is the ultimate ignorance.
Paul Ross - You made me do homework! Grumble grumble. Here’s what I found. "Chemtrails refer to a conspiracy theory. The theory stems from a belief in intentional high-altitude releases of chemicals or biological agents." I’m guessing you’re a Republican. LMAO! Chemtrails are contrails, water vapor, white in color, harmless. You might want to check yourself. 😁 www.thoughtco.com/chemtrails-versus-contrails-3976090
