Aw, c'mon, Ian knocked it out of the park with "Something in his youth or childhood. Spot on "The Sound Of Music" reply. I hope the young folks get that joke, it's a great one.
I was going to say the toast sandwich was from Mrs Beeton. I would think most people know that. A very sparing scrape of vegemite would be cheaper - and healthier.
If only they knew where people in the U.K. would be in 2023, with that "austerity sandwich", people probably can't afford the bread! If you could afford the bread, who wouldn't just toast bread and add butter or margarine if they were low on cash?! Margarine is cheaper than butter. The only people eating dry toast are those who have been vomiting and want to see if they can keep something down...so what the lady who wanted people to eat a toast sandwich was saying and not what the crazy person suggesting the sandwich said.
@@EricBrettJones I would argue that Jupp is a comedian while McIntyre very much is not. However, I accept that many people like him, that's fair enough.
Yeah that comment was funnier than anything McIntyre ever said😂 I stated in another comment, he might not be Rickles or carlin…. but he’s definitely One of my favorites and given me just as many laughs as Sean lock and Paul Merton
good lord, is this whole bit that Paul Merton's doing about Fenton actually from a genuine place? I mean trust me I lament the dumbing down of modern society more than most, but it's a friggin like 20 second clip (which sorta helps it rack up such high views) and it's indeed pretty damn funny. I know he's playing it (and well) for laughs, but he seems kinda of genuinely deep down fed up with it, seems like bit of an overreaction. he's coming across like a genuinely unlikeable version of the two old Muppets balcony guys. it was an objectively unusual moment that was caught on camera
Dude, if you still dont get it - most comedians are utter attention whores, they absolutely hate it when someone is more popular than them. Merton is probably the extreme case of that.
Awww go to hell, comparing Miles to that twit McIntyre… Give me a break already 😂 That’s funnier than anything McIntyre ever said. maybe he’s made more money, but jupp is a comedians comedian. I get Miles was kind of new on the scene back then… And maybe he’s no Rickles or carlin…. But he’s given me just as many laughs as my contemporary favorites…. Sean lock and Paul Merton. Fucking brilliant they are! 👍🤘
I’m sorry I’ve got to add to my other comment, I just heard that Bob Saget passed away. I mean what the fuck?! Norm MacDonald, Sean lock, and now Saget. Aren’t there some politicians or bankers we could spare? I’d gladly give up 100 of each before these comedic masterminds. I mean can’t they take Jerry Seinfeld or someone? I don’t hate Seinfeld or anything, But he hasn’t taken onepercent of the risk or pushed the boundaries as any of the before mentioned comedians. For fucks sake those are the ones we need it around as the world gets worse and becomes a darker place. The ones who can push push push back. Why does it have to be these people? Norm MacDonald and Sean Lock were idols of mine, very few comedians were above them in my eyes. And the ones who were are long dead and gone. .

Yeah I commented about it several times in other threads above… it was funnier than anything McIntyre ever said. 😂 Jupp Was new at the time, and now widely regarded as a comedian comedian. Definitely in the top 1% alive today and recognized as so by other legends like Merton, carr, and Sean lock… rest his soul
It’s not like he wrote it, reading it off the cards or auto-q But I agree and As an American who can’t even see a simple curse word on television… I’ve been stunned at some of the lines hosts have been given to deliver. That’s what makes this show so great but I’ve been stunned so many times to the point of my jaw hitting the floor. Some of the comments when Henning wehn was aghast, some of the comments about the holocaust in Germany hit me like a ton of bricks and were absolutely legendary and hilarious television.

He is widely regarded as talented and capable of almost any role, and he continues to push himself and surprise people. Like I said, I don’t watch movies but I read a lot about the industry and stuff
