1:32 = oval 6:03 = long 8:37 = round 11:07 = square 14:27 = heart 17:06 = diamond so frustrated everytime I come here for a refresh in how to do styles and all to see there were no timestamps so here you go fortunate people~ Enjoy your day Edit 1 year later: I see since the youtube update, there us actually a way to look at where different hijab styles are talked about and I couldn't be happier. I also wanted to thank everyone who thanked me for the timestamps though it's kinda not needed anymore. Hope everyone is doing well! 💜
I just converted to Islam a year ago. I'm always afraid to wear it out in public or go to my mosque anymore because of all the backlash. My mom and dad aren't Muslim but I felt like Allah would accept me more than a catholic would and I was right! But I really don't know what my shape is and I have a really big head with not much hair. I really appreciate you and Haute Hijab! You beautiful ladies make me feel like I can embrace my religion and be who I am! Thank you asaalam
Hello , just enjoy discovering yourself wearing a hijab with every style you can make while making baby steps . Its fun , im a muslim and I ve been wearing a hijab 5 years ago and i still get excited trying different style each times and remember you are always beautiful 💕
I'm a new Muslim, and my family doesn't really accept me. I'm scared to go to a mosque just for the reason of being judged, I pray to Allah to give me strength, but I have yet to find any Muslim friends. I know this is the right path for me, I just pray it gets easier.

I am not a Muslim, but I have friends who are Muslim and they look soo gorgeous with hijab and Arabic fashion. I just love it and i am looking to try my own hijab too. I am from Romania
@@Penn.obsessed I've always wanted to look like Miranda Cosgrove growing up. She's mad pretty 😍 But now that I've gotten older, I'd rather look like a happier healthier verstion of myself everyday Alhamdulia.
My favorite thing about thus video is that by showcasing the variety of beauties, you contributed to the fact that beautiful is multi faceted and there's not one single standard for beauty like only oval/long/diamond. It's just that your face is your face & beautiful in it's own right
As some of the other comments expressed, its not just face shape. You can have a heart shape or oval shape with extra chubby cheeks and that can make a difference in what looks good.
Love this.....at the end of the day... all that matters to me is it stays in place and that I'm cozy... and I remember that I wear the scarf to please God and only him. ♡
I can't thank you more! I watched a lot of videos explaining how hijabs work for face shapes, but I never understood it, and I never knew what my face shape was, but after this vidio, I now know my face shape and hijabs couldn't look any better on me! THANK YOU!
I'm half lebanese and half south african and yes I completely agree with you! I feel like I grew up in an open-minded household where I was always encouraged to think outside the box. Great observation :) loved the video xx
I have tried so many hijab styles but I really cannot find the perfect style for me as I have a square shape but with CHUBBY CHEEKS!! I have yet to find a hijab youtube with the same to get inspiration from! Help, please hehe.
I think the way you're doing it looks great! Fold it at your cheekbones for some great emphasis on your beautiful features! From the tiny pic looks like you're more of a heart. I would look at Sobia and Habiba for inspiration
Thank you so much for thos video! Exactly what I was looking for! The example hijabis you chose to represent the different shapes really helped to envision what the shapes look like on actual humans, instead of just the concepts. Thanks for all the work you did explaining the face shapes and how to style hijabs to complement them.
Great video!!! I always have a hard time figuring out what my face shape is, but I do have a tip for those with a double chin. Always pull your bottom pin up to the first chin to conceal the second!!!! lol!!!!
Thank you for posting this! I am just starting to wear hijab as I plan to start going to mosque soon and this is helpful. Hijabs/ scarves frame your face so much !
Omggg you just helped me realized 1. Face I have (diamond) 2. Why I cant Rock a turban no matter how hard I try (I've tried many times) 3. Why showing the undercaps never looked good on me 4. And why all the pictures of myself I don't like.. are manly because I have it folded at the cheekbone. I could never figure out what I was doing wrong why some styles look good on me and others don't thank you sooo much. Also a much bigger thank you for making square hijabs popular again! For awhile there, all you could find on the market and what was considered fashionable was the rectangle scarfs... And the rectangular ones are hit or miss with me...but square has always looked best on me So thank you!
Adi2883 my pleasure!!! Isn't it such an aha moment when you figure these things out!! Glad I could help! And girl you know I be rocking them squares all day errrrday. Bringing them back baby!!!
I love this video! and I loved learning about how different styles can change up the look so drastically ...also LOL at "who has a diamond face shape??" ...I do! It's so often left out that I was pleasantly surprised you included it... thank you! :) Another GREAT example of someone who has a diamond face shape is none other than Ibtihaj Muhammad. For those still wondering if they have a diamond face shape... a nice trick to find out: the widest part of your face will be at your temples, and if you take a string and measure it against your temple to your chin, when you pivot it up to the center of your forehead (keeping the beginning point at your temple), it should be pretty much the same distance :)
The way you explained is Awesome I happen to have an oval face shape (alhumdulilah) And I always Struggle to explain , Why I don't use certain (simple) Material/stuffs and this video really elegantly explains it 2:37 Yea! Absolutely I also noticed that with Oval face u shouldn't add folds at the sides 😂😅😌 May Allah Bless you sister ❤️✨
Hey Melanie... can you make a video on the different ways you can style your hair underneath the hijab that will affect the overall look of how it turns out?
I have round or that what I think😂 But I would recommend you watching some of withlove Leena! When I started wearing the hijab I looke awful like I don’t even know how I had friends😂😂 I didn’t really care or see that it looked … like imagine a 12 year old girl with BRIGHT pink hijab and bright green shirt with blue jeans🤦♀️😂 now when I look at my photos when I was younger I wish I did it better or had someone teach me like a older sister! So my advice for you try many stiles as you can try to google some and even try with different materials because some materials are a little uncomfortable and some are just perfect! I’m so sorry for this long text but I hope you got a some tips ❤️
girls i see so many hijabi girls covering just tte head and the neck but my mom says the the hijab should layer also the chest. I know covering the chest means covering the top clothing as well. so is it a sin not layering the scarf up to there?
Vabenee vaabeene The point of the hijab is to cover chest + hair + neck, but some people just don't understand that concept and use the hijab as a fashion statement
@Samiha Khondoker . keep up your hijab styles.because after all Allah(SWT) has made it mandatory upon adult females.and it's not your friends who will have to obey.but obey your lord who will judge you and not your friends
@Samiha Khondoker look u probably wear it in way that don't go well with your face shape... That why it doesn't looks good on you.. in other word the style that go well with your face will turn you beautiful
Well it depends If you are wearing a top or a dress that's overly tight in the chest area then you sure need to cover it with your hijab If you're wearing something loose it's your call
Excellent video keep them coming really like your channel and approach just one comment where is DINA TOKIO in this !!! I feel so gutted that she wasn't featured don't know why, but because she works hijab and turbans so well and she's been the top hijab fashionista for many years and her face shape is beautiful she would've been a great example. Thanks Melanie
Mesopotamianandproud who doesn't love Dina!?! I looked at her face shape and to be honest she was between two different face shapes and I already had great examples that were spot on for her face shape - but she's awesome regardless!
First, of all, this is soooo amazing. Second, notes, when you mention your past video of hijab style. Place a video of the link on-screen. So, first-time viewers like me may quickly have a reference and perhaps click to it later. Thank youuuuu. Again, you are awesomeeee.
After days of trying to figure out my face shape, I finally used a measuring tape and a face shape app, which told me I am a triangle/pear. I have narrow cheekbones and a prominent jaw (4 inches wider than my cheekbones, 2 inches wider than my face length and forehead, which are equal). Which hijab styles do you think would work with this face shape?
Asalaamalikum I am so happy I have found haute hijab Alhumdullilah such a blessing all of your videos are so helpful MashAllah, may Allah reward you for all that you do and more ameen. I am still unsure of my face shape though :/ everyone is telling me I’m all different ones 😂 so I would like your opinion if possible? Inshallah I will be able to feel more confident in my hijabs from then, also once I figure out my skin tone for colours etc Jzk Marie ❤️
Awww you're so sweet love! Thank you so much! Ameen ❤️ No problem, please feel free to e-mail us at hello@hautehijab.com and Brittney from customer service can assist you! She can also get on a video/voice call to help you out! :) Please let me know if there's anything else you need! :)
As long as the hijab industry stays away from becoming this statement of Luxury. Modesty, Humility, Cleanliness, Professionalism, FAITH in ALLAH (SWT) INSHAALLAH This is the symbol us Muslims need to present. #HauteHijab
Some months late here but I loved the video! 😍 I'm not sure about my face shape, sometimes I think it's round, sometimes I think it's oval. Haha maybe a mix of both. I do have very small chin and very big forehead, which makes me look horrible in turban style too 😂😂😂. I'm so jealous of the girls who have a bigger chin haha. The only turban I can wear is with the tail on the side like in my pic.
Thank you Melanie! I needed such a detailed video like this for I always have trouble with my hijab style(s) . My face and forehead is similar to yours and I usually wear my scarf just the way you are wearing in the video but I always have an issue with my hair showing (from the top, pointing curve of the scarf) and when I wear an under-scarf the overall look gets completely altered :( Any advice?
I'm the *exact* same way and I just have to make sure my hair is secured underneath and pulled back nicely. When I used to have bangs there were OUT IN FULL FORCE LOL - and yeah I can't wear an underscarf either, not only does it ruin the look, but it hurts my head and gives me headaches! I have really straight smooth hair so it will creep out every few hours lol I just have to adjust and put it back in!
I always thought I had a face style between a round and a square face, so I would try styles that fit that. I would feel very bad when the result was disastrous. I don't know my face is heart shape i didnt even know it exists. Thanks for the video
Melanie, do you have any tips for the older women? All the bloggers you mentioned are so young, mashallah! I am struggling finding my style after hitting my 40s.
