I'm an artist that loves working with dirt and clay, most of the work I create uses it in some form or another so I was delighted to discover many years back this wonderful Japanese craze of making shiny mud balls. I regularly return to making them in my studio as a 'warm up' or a way of just zoning out for a bit before focusing on my other work. This is a very amateur video I did for the wonderful Isolation Art School (on Instagram) when the the Uk was put in it's first lockdown in March 2020. Making these Hikaru Dorodango's is a great way to reconnect with the earth, it's almost meditative in practice and is a wonderful activity for anyone of any age to try. Good luck :)
