In no world I'm trying to reduce this amazing play. Now, hear me out. He blocked both enemy pawns, his Queen was protected in a black square blocking the King, he walks his king in black squares so enemy white Bishop can't do anything. Once upon a time There lived two kings in one kingdom. The two kings always fought and quarrelled with each other. Their kingdom was not in peace. One day, King A said to King B, "As the king, I order you to leave my kingdom and you shall never come back." "And as the king of this kingdom, I also order you to leave my kingdom." Said King B. They talked about it. Soon the decision was made. One king will leave only if the other one leaves. So the kings left their kingdom, it became a kingdom without a king or two. Years later The citizens of the village saw a tree coming towards them. When the tree came closer, it became a human. Then the human said," Nothing Happened."

0:26 here he calculates if opponent instead of random moves could take black b and c pawns and promote white c pawn and the answer is opponent was 1 move short from the draw, so Hikaru's premoves were correct. His brain is scary...
@stephenholt4670
@stephenholt4670 2 года назад
Actually white doesn't need to take the b pawn, he can just take the c pawn only, get the bishop out of the way and then push the c pawn to promote, all before Hikaru's premove sequence was finished. So in theory, the premoves could have led to a draw. It's extremely unlikely white would play those moves though, unless he knew the premove sequence had already been played.
@stephenholt4670
@stephenholt4670 2 года назад
I actually think it was theoretically possible for white to escape from this, given the premoves that Hikaru made. Taking the position at 0:21, Hikaru's king is on e7, and he's already committed to moving it up diagonally all the way to d2 and he's already on the verge of premoving his queen to b4. But if the sequence then went like this: Bf3 Kf6; Bxc6 Kg5; Bd5 Kf4; c6 Ke3; c7 Kd2; c8=Q Qb4+, the engine has it as a drawn game with both players having queens. And that's assuming Hikaru had already seen the bishop move from c2 to d1 and factored that in. If from 0:18, the bishop had moved to take the c pawn more directly, and Hikaru still put the same premove sequence, then black would wind up losing his queen while it was still on c3. Of course, all this is quite unlikely unless the opponent knew Hikaru was premoving, because the above sequence would just lose the bishop and the pawn under normal play.

I mean tbf his opp only has a white square bishop and his queen is protected by the pawn blockading the opps king so literally all he has to do is move the king to win.

I'm not impressed he found this move. I'm impressed he found it instantly. It's fairly straight forward. White king was locked by a protected queen and white bishop was on a white square. So all black squares are fair game.

He pre-moved Mate in 9 in a way that I, a player 2000 points lower rated than him, can pre-move Mate in 9 haha. All White's pieces except the bishop are static so just bring king in on dark squares and deliver mate.

This one was easy tho, the queen locked the white king, and all black king had to do was avoid the white bishop and walk on dark squares. He has way crazier premove mates tho

i thought this was some insane foresight by hikaru but then i realised he just had to keep his pieces off the light squares lol
