Wales Campervan Adventure
We have hired a campervan for the week from Thistle Campervan Hire and decided to head over to Wales for a 5 day adventure. The campervan was an awesome choice and have everything we needed and more. Due to the weather we didn't get a change to use the dinghy or paddle board we took but we'll certainly hire this again in the future.
Day 4 was an awesome day...but also a frustrating day for me too. After an awesome start towards Anglesey we hiked around the beach and to the Peninsula crossing the water and ended up seeing some awesome sights and were treated to the blazing sun. After a walk around the headland we took ourselves to the beach for a relax and a dip - we even spotted a couple of seals which was awesome.
However in the sea I took my new GoPro 11 which I'd bought especially for this trip. I bought this for the 8:7 ratio so I can use the footage both for landscape but also horizontal videos. However looks like I had a dodgy unit....after taking in the sea and submerging for a few seconds it started beeping and shut down. Not only that...it corrupted by SD card. It really hit me hard as it had all the footage from all the trip as hadn't backed any up - big lesson right there!
When we got back the van I hoped I'd be able to recure the footage and it was just the GoPro that had broken. but no....everything was! I didn't have a backup with me so that ended the vlog from the trip. Real shame as we had an awesome evening and a really night time around Holyhead the next day. Unfortunately I only have pics from that which I will share on my FB this week.
2 weeks after being back and trying many things I finally recovered most of the footage. Some was lost, some corrupt and others all the audio out of sync so it's taken me ages to go through it - hence the break from YT. But i've managed to get 4 days together which the footage I had and hope it works.
GoPro have since replaced my GoPro 11 and in future I'll make sure I always have a spare GoPro with me. So now also have the GoPro 10 and now the GoPro Mini 11 too.
