I hiked the Tour De Mt Blanc at the age of 64, a week after the death of my sister. At the time, I didn't realize how full of grief and burnt out I was, but the hike with good friends, brought me back to life. I know these mountains quite well. They are visually magnificent and a good workout. 😀

You're a funny guy and all and your vlog videos are awesome - but these videos with barely any diologue, beautiful music and amazing video work are some of the most truly theraputic things I've ever seen, and the recaps at the end are really interesting, informative and very easy to absorb. I love the silent parts, just the picture, the rest is left to my imagination. Enjoyed It as a Swiss, local Guy; a) bring cash, we don't accept CC every where (it's complicated I know :-)). b) If it is forbidden to camp, use a tarp it is not considered a tent/camp, or at least you can discuss it. c) if you want to camp, don't do it next to a "refuge, Hütte, Alp, rifugio etc." keep your distance d) enjoy your hike, your stay and take your time to visit those countries. e) find your spot, don't go where everybody already has been. f) AND MOST IMPORTANT look out for the small things right next to you, They are as beautiful as any other place on earth. thanks

I was distracted from the gorgeous scenery by Kraig's footwear. Mountain trail in sneakers (they don't even seem to be trail runners)? That's dangerous (unless TMB is so easy you can do it in sneakers). I did parts of Via Alpina this summer in trail runners and regretted choosing them over boots more than once, especially in the rain and on descents.

It is a lot when you're beginner but I, as a fat guy, went from 15 km a day being tiring in spring of 2020 to doing 35 km in a day and still being fine to do the same next day in half a year of training. Our body is made for walking. It adapts fast to that. The rest is in your head.

I know there are insane people who trail-run long distances, but to the common man 40 km, with a lot of elevation, is a lot... especially when you do it for 5 days in a row. Cheers

Kraig. These videos get better and better. You're super inspiring and I'm loving the Q+A's especially. I've always camped and hiked but never alone and really excited to plan my own trip. Can't wait for more good stuff from you! Keep it up.

11:20 It ia so fuuny, that I watch American traveling through Switzerland, France and Italy in silent film, and out of nowhere there are Czech people in the background who I can understand. Great work, Kraig, great work!!! :)

That is honestly a big part of the experience of the TMB. There are so many people from all over the world that language just becomes a fluid concept. One minute you're talking English with an Iranian and the next you're talking your native language with some other people from your country you met. Greeting others just becomes a generic uhuh because it's hard to keep track which country you're in and what you're actually supposed to say, and on top of that, there's a good chance they won't even know the right greeting anyway because they're from China or whatever. It's really fun :D

Excellent! And the unexpected Q&A at the end was awesome. And is there anything better than an ice cold coke after a long run/hike??

I dont normally drink cokes, but after a long day on the trail or a multiday backpacking, I crave one.

Hauntingly beautiful... absolutely mesmerising... jaw dropping; cinematic, documentary quality content... I can't believe I used to watch you do minimalist apartment tours in NY... this is worlds apart and you've evolved into an entirely different league... I am at a loss for words. Thank You for taking us with you.
