Man, absolutely amazing video. I didn't want it to stop. The views are insane, the narration is fantastic. Really amazing job you two, I can not imagine how hard this was. Proud of you two!
I can't seriously thank you enough for saying this. It was fun to piece this one together. I'm so happy you likes watching this! Hope you are staying safe and keep exploring!
Great video Cory, awesome to see how you experienced it! Much respect for the pace you guys had, TMB in 6 days is no joke! Now I’ll stop writing this comment and continue editing my video, takes way to long! 🤪
Bjorn, thank you! Quite the journey. After watching your TMB Video over and over it kept getting me so pumped to do the trail ourselves. Cannot wait to see what you create in the future. Love your work!
For you both: thanks for sharing these amazing views in this beautifully made video and CONGRATS for your achievements! Will you please set up the full list of video-gear you had been using here ? Thanks for that as well !
Thank you so much for the kind words! Real quick I used a go pro hero 9 with a small travel tripod along with 4 extra batteries, and a dji mini 2 Drone with 2 extra batteries. Didn't need the extra battery pack because the rifugios had so many chances to charge up during the night. Hope you found this helpful and best wishes to you in the future!
Laurent! Thank you my brother! You'll live every bit. Live streamed the UTMB the last two days. Was pulling for Walmsley but gotta respect the G.O.A.T that is Killian!
Oh my goodness! Another world there! So beautiful and satisfying! So proud of you Cor, for pronouncing those names!🤣 you two make the best memories and your adventure never ends! Love you guys!❤
Amazing video Cory! We LOVED the TMB. We also hiked it hut to hut this year, we stayed in completely different huts than you guys, so it's fun to see other places as well.
@@CoryGrasser Loved the Refuge at Bonhomme. The food was great, there were Ibex around the hut in the evening and the staff was super friendly. And you?
@@Hikaholics we saw Ibex up there also! If we could go back soon and do even a single night hut trip Bonhamme is where we'd go. So beautiful up there! Nice to know what other refuges are good ones to visit for the future! 👍
Marie, thank you! Living at 6,000 ft definitely helped. We really felt good throughout all the passed and climbs. The whole trail is either straight up or straight down. Not too many flat spots but if you cone from Utah and are in decent shape it well help you so much. The highest pass (Col De Ferret) tops out at 8,500 ft and we felt great at the top.
Absolutely! I used the "shorty" gopro selfie stick. Packed down perfectly for the whole trip! Hope this helps. So jealous of your trip! Have a blast! Best backpacking trip in the world!
Eddie, thank you for the kind words. It's going to be your best adventure yet. I just used a gopro hero 9 for all the shooting with a small gopro tripod selfie stick. It did the trick, and its so small. I use this setup for almost everything!
Yeah, we got turned around on my GPS and decided to just take the road up to get away from confusion. Thank you for watching! I'm hoping to go back at some point to fast pack it.
Hu, Danni! I think on each day I said how many miles we were doing but it was something like Day 1 - 16 miles, Day 2 - 23 miles, Day 3 - 12 miles Day 4 - 12 miles, Day 5 - 10 miles, Day 6 - 13 miles
Just starting to plan our trip. Day 2 looks brutal may have to break that one into two. Did you have time to adjust to altitude before the start? what were the dates that you went? thank you
Hi Leslie! Jealous of your trek! Day 2 could have been broken up but all the rifugios were booked up. We did thus at the end of August. If you don't live at altitude, it usually takes about 2 weeks to acclimate, but my wife and I live at higher altitudes already in Colorado, so we were good. There is a lot of up and down on this hike with little flat sections. Have fun!
Hey man, very good video. We are going to do it for charity next year June. Just wondering if you can share where you booked all accommodation. We still didn't decide if we will go with tent or accommodation you did. if you can give me some helpful information i will be more than happy. thx in advance
That is great! Absolutely! First night we stayed at La Balme, second night at Maison Vieille, third at Hotel Lavechey, fourth at Champex, and 5th I can't remember but I say each one in the video.
Awesome!! You guys are adorable btw. So lucky to have a partner that is willing and able to join you on this amazing hike! 6 days!! That's pretty impressive. Well done! Thanks for sharing your experience
Thank you, Lynn! I couldn't agree more! Love sharing these special days out in the mountains with my favorite person 😊 Thanks again for enjoying the video. Wishing you the best!
Hey corey great work man ❤ this kind of hikes and its a dream of mine ro do TMB, I want to know how much (quantity) food shall a person take for 6-8 days ... Any suggestions plz siol really help... Thanks
Kaleem! Thanks man, appreciate you. We just made sure to carry about 3 liters of water for us both at all times. We ate at the rifugio at night and in the morning and only stopped for lunch along the hike itself. We also only carried electrolytes and some small snack bars and nuts at all times. Hope this helps! Can't wait for you trek!
Thank you for watching, Elizabeth! I am so jealous of your trip. The ladder section is a little scary for some, but each ladder doesn't go more than 10 rungs. So you can get through each one in bite sizes. Also, if you are doing the hike counterclockwise, I think the ladders would be much easier than clockwise since you'd have to down hike the ladders instead of going up. Hope this helps!
Hi Owen! I started out using my gopro hero 8 and now have a 9 and 11 to use this year. Love the gopro shots and now I've also got a drone to use for some cool b roll.
@Cory Grasser I'm so embarrassed!!! I was commenting on your video like you were a totally different person who did the TMB with his son, whereas you were with your wife!! I'm so sorry... but i watched like 10 TMB videos today and got a bit confused!!!
