Every year the Glarus Pfadi hosts a 24-hour hike. 500 Participants hike either 50, 80, or 100 Kilometers. This year I join a few friends to take on the 80 Kilometer distance.

That explains why I saw so many people in hiking gear walking past where I live. Didn't know about this event but sounds fun!

Oh great, you did the Siechemarsch! Happy blister! Glad to see this is still a thing. I participated twice, never finished. My first time was even a very similar route to this one (Baar-Niederurnen).

80km walk... I think I'm out for life lol. I did a half ironman 16 years ago and that was prob my pinnacle. GG.
