I spent my two day weekend around Tonto Basin. The first day was hiking the Browns Peak at Four Peaks Wilderness. A lot of lupine along the way and logs blocking the trail. The scenery was gorgeous with all those wild flowers. I was excited to reach the chute for scrambling until I reached the vertical part where it was hard for me to reach up due to being short. I realized that the longer I stay there, it was getting in my head and start panicking so I just thought to keep finding the way to continue to get up if possible or back down if I can't do it. Fortunately, I got up! The weather was great all the way up aside from the lady bugs feasting on me at the summit. After hiking the Browns Peak, I went to Theodore Roosevelt looking for Kayak or Paddle Board rentals but I didn't find one. To my surprise, there is a National Monument! So the next day, I woke up early to go to Tonto National Monument while it was still cool and hike the paved path. I am so amazed with the ruins and learning how people lived 700 years ago. I would definitely come back on November to see the Upper Cliff Dwelling. Right after visiting the monument, I found a cool spot to chill by the water and read my book. It was an amazing weekend!
