Oh man, I'm so glad you're emphasizing "Leave No Trace". It's so important and I wish more people understood that!! This looked like a great hike - the bridge was really neat. I'd totally be one of the ones bungee jumping off it on weekends! Trails near my home town (east of Toronto🇨🇦) have opened up too, and I'm really excited to get back outside. Glad we were able to connect 😊
You are braver than me, I haven't tried to Bungee jump but thinking of it makes me feel like my neck is broken haha. Have fun on the trails in Toronto- do you have a favorite?
Cool video Alice! It's a bummer about the trash, but surely it'll be cleaned up soon? I bet it's super exciting for the trails to be re-opened - can't wait to get back into some hiking soon!
Thank you. Yes a bummer indeed. This is a busy hike and there were a ton of people living out there in the woods too. But glad to be back on the trails
Hooray for trails re-opening. I'm so excited to get out hiking again with my family. This year, I want to plan a backpacking trip with my kids and husband over Father's Day. We will either go in the Olympic National Forest (or Park) or Mt. Hood National Forest. Thanks for the reminder to Leave No Trace!!
Alice I really enjoyed your excellent tips for what to bring and the supportive suggestions to pick up some trash for future hikers!! I love hiking & almost daily hike Grouse Mountain 🏔 here in North Vancouver, BC !!
Thank you Colleen, I love Grouse Mountain. I did that one a few years back and would love to do it again one day. Such a great hike to have in your neighborhood, those stairs are a killer.
Alice Ford so awesome you’ve been in my town! Many love Vancouver & the North Shore Mountains! Yes totally a workout in my backyard.. thank gosh have been able to access during most park closures. Us regulars do. One day you will & for now share your incredible hikes!
Oowee that water must be cold! What a beautiful trail though. Channeling your inner mountain goat? LOL Bigfoot too? What a fun excursion. Thanks for inviting me along. 😊
That's a neat hike, and could be pretty awesome to do in late spring or summertime, when the water level would be lower and hot temperatures make the water crossing on the refreshing side.
Fantastic video. Thank you. It's a hike I've taken several times, though not for years, and it was nice to see your take on it. Thanks again. Well done.
I've done this beautiful trail twice before the pandemic hit. I counted 18 stream crossings on my last trip out. And, I was deemed too old to bungy jump off the BTN! Damn! Loved your video! Keep 'em coming!
Hey Alice. Pretty cool Video but the wanderlust is raising. I will travel to California in 2021 so I add the bridge to Nowhere on my bucketlist. Very cool place and nice views. How cold was the water at the river crossing?
Great video Alice! Loved all your safety and environmental tips - thanks so much for sharing and pushing these important messages. Also, man, that water looks amazing!
Interesting hike... leading to nowhere... well sort of 😎🥾🇺🇸. Thanks for sharing. It is terrible how people would think leaving a pile of trash like that. It did happen here in Canada 🇨🇦 within our National Parks during the pandemic shutdown.
Such a great hike! I'm very impressed you carried your own gear and camped alone before tackling the big climb, especially when there's talk of bears in the area... This type of thing should really be on my bucket list...
ack the trash is so disheartening. Thank you for being one of the people with enough awareness to leave "no trace" ... hahaha love how that chick had to jump for the river crossing line #shorty ... LMFAO "choose your own adventure" ...but IRL. love it! that hike looks like an all-day kinda thing. wow. The water near the bridge looks so clear! *heart eyes*
Nice trail! I love the varying challenges as well as the river and beautiful scenery! What hike am I excited for this year? I started thru hiking the AZT back in March and looking forward to sectioning it soon again! Great hiking video - new subscriber. :-) ~Allie
Thank you Allie. I lived in Tucson for 5 years and was not familiar with this trail. Thanks for putting it on my radar, I wouldn't want to hike it in the summer, but it sounds awesome
I don't know where this is. I used to live in Upland but I never hiked anywhere, regretably. Shoot - Now I'm missing L.A. Cool video! Thanks for sharing. 😁👍 And you don't want to experience an earth-quake while climbing those clifts. Whew! Was that you doing back-flips?
How nice you can go hiking over there!!! Wow !!! How did you do with your shoes and socks all wet? By the way, I would have crossed the river also the second time... climbing the rock would have beens cary for me :D How nice they are those sharp rounded bushes!!! Which plant is that? We don't have it in my country, at least I never saw it before. It has been nice hearing your advices about what to bring in the backpack!!!
Hi Alice, Nice Video. I was there Last week... July 3rd , a lot of people wow. Now I need to start my youtube video. ( Bridge to Nowhere ) I will show a hiking a little, Tuna pasta food etc... Will be 4K footage. Let me see. Your opinion will be welcome 😊
Great quality video. I was just there about 10 days ago and the trail was pretty clean, I barely picked up any trash but yeah the trash containers and bathrooms are still a disaster =X. What drone do you use for your footage?
I did this hike about 17 years ago and bungee jumped off that bridge. It was a great day, but there's a LOT of navigating over uneven rocks which really give the ankles a workout as I recall. I also busted a digital camera on that hike...
Looks like an awesome hike! Will have to add it to my list of LA hikes :-) Would you say the sections with the ropes or rock scaling were challenging or fairly easy? I'm always cautious with my shoulder injuries where there's ricks of slipping if the rope is terrain isn't very sturdy.
It’s an awesome hike for sure. Getting to be too hot for it though. The rope sections were not too challenging. You can also go around those sections by hiking down closer to the river.
Went there this sunday and it was super packed more then a 100 cars parked along the road I couldn’t believe it ....i didn’t even get to hike I recommend you hit this hike on a weekday ignorant people and messy take care of are forest!
Yes absolutely I wouldn’t recommend anyone hiking on weekends right now if you can avoid it. I went on a Monday morning at 8am and it was busy. Unfortunate that so many people are being irresponsible
I definitely will hit a hike on a weekday...people were bbqueing and getting wet in the river bank like they were at the beach 🏖 well I’m glad at least you were able to enjoy your hike maybe one day I can join you on an adventure. 🏞🌄 love watching your videos, and all the cool outdoor adventures! have you ever had a run in with the critters? maybe a bear or lion on your hikes ?
Everyone, please do not leave graffiti everwhere too. There was no graffiti in the SG mountains back in the '60s. BTW, I think it is safer to stay by the river.
I did a hike further West of this canyon 20 years ago and was absolutely saddened by the graffiti on rocks and dirty diapers just left on the trail. It’s a-shame people aren’t packing out their garbage anymore, but the cliffs and rocks tagged in graffiti really was so disrespectful and really ruined the hike.
Haven’t been back to this area since COVID but yes it was full of trash. Really unfortunate and terrible that people can’t keep their trash in their vehicles
Yes I believe there is a free version you can use to track but can’t download. It’s also only $30 a year so it’s pretty inexpensive. On this hike if you ever lose the trail just get to the river and you will find it again
