Hiking Closed Canyon Trail in Big Bend Ranch State Park 

Often times Big Bend Ranch State Park gets overlooked because most of the spotlight is on its big brother - Big Bend National Park. Both are beautiful but the State Park holds something different and special we did not see in the National Park and that is the proximity of the mountains. Everything felt much closer making the beauty feel more obtainable. Closed Canyon was exceptionally beautiful and a ton of fun to hike, similar to this is the Upper Burro Mesa Pour-off trail in the National Park. Closed Canyon was easier to hike and was more narrow than Upper Mesa but Upper Mesa had a great end of trail view rather than Closed Canyon that was pot of water called a Tinajas.
