Great tips tqvm for sharing... What I've tried to avoid the pain: 1. Wear hiking shoes 1 size bigger 2. Double socks 3. Use hiking pole 4. Wear knee guard 5. Walk zig zag going down 6. Exercise for core and legs strength 7. Follow your own pace if hiking w group
dont know if you guys gives a damn but if you are stoned like me atm then you can watch all the latest series on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my brother recently =)
Useful tips, thank you. The zigzag one sounds very promising. It also reminds me of that old myth that says you should always run in a zigzag pattern when you’re running away from crocodiles because apparently they can’t change directions fast enough to catch you (which is rubbish coz crocs are fast). I’d rather not make headlines for looking like a complete idiot while being eaten by a crocodile 😄
FWIW, if you're using two socks, make sure you are wearing both socks when you are fitting your boots before purchase. For that matter, make sure you buy boots when your feet are already hot and swollen.
did you ever try walking barefoot? Not suggesting no boots, but millions of years of evolution doesn't suggest hiding your feet a long way from where they're stepping is a good strategy
Good tips. It is amazing how distracting it can be when your feet hurt, because everything hurts. My brother says that if he ever made it big and had the money, he would buy a brand new pair of Costco socks to wear every day. Just toss the dirty ones. His big indulgence in life is Costco socks. If you get a chance to read this, would you pretty please tell me where that video is where you did the hilarious sponsor after talking about the ya know. Not coconuts? I have wanted to share that so many times, but I cannot find it! What was the episode called?
I'm wearing those costco socks sitting at my desk haha. You're talking about the manscaped sponsor on my main channel? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sdSj2hxcPcs.html
When going downhill I try to strike first with my heel so it takes most of the force. I just ordered 3 pairs of Silverlight socks so i will see how they work out.
Oof yeah, downhill is hard on knees too. I tore the meniscus in my knee when I was a kid and it always hurts going downhill. I usually grab a stick at the start of a hike and it defs helps
Hello this is a good video about saving your toes. I don't know if really cutting your toenails straight across makes a big difference. I really can relate to this because I have to hike in Flip flops because I have big very very wide feet sz15 6 EEEEEE wide with very fat wide toe that are equally straight across making my foot 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my little toe. There's no shoe , sock ,or boot that's wide enough to fit my foot. Flip flops Is the only Footwear that barely and I mean barely fits my foot because my toes are wider than the flip flop straps and when I get my flip-flops on my feet both of my little toes hang off the footbed of the flip-flops because of my toes being so fat and wide. Because of my toes being very very fat and wide I have to cut my toenails straight across because of my toes being straight across which is making my foot very very extremely wide. I wish my toes were at a 45 degree angle like everybody else Toes that way my foot is not very very extreme wide. With my toes being very fat and wide I keep my toenails clean cut , straight across , not too long , not too short , just very very lil of clear toenail pass the toenail base on my toes to prevent from having any ingrown toenails and I do not hit my toenails while I'm wearing my flip-flops. I cut all of my toenails like that and keep it in mind my little toes hanging off the footbed of the flip flops and I had not had a problem with them. So I think you can cut your toenails either straight across or around and you will be okay. I have a buddy who has my feet too just not as wide as mine and he has big toes and he cut his toenails round and he never complained about having a problem. But this was a very good topic thank you for sharing your video.
@@IdRatherBeHiking yes I have to do everything in flip-flops! Work ( load & off load trailers ) , ride bike , hike , kayak , cut grass , trim , mulch , work on tractor trailer , & all other things. I have to do these things either in flip flops or barefooted 👣 because of have big very very wide feet with very fat wide toes that are straight across. Never thought I would have to live my life Barefooted 👣 style because of me having very very extremely wide feet.
@@IdRatherBeHiking yes yes yes. I just had a sandal company to reach out to me and going to make me some custom-made sandals for me wide enough to wear all my toes will fit on the foot bed with no problem. Trying to find somebody to see if they can make a shoe that is wide enough for my foot. I never did like wearing socks but I'm trying to see if I can find somebody to make some custom sock for me to wear in the winter time when it's cold cuz my foot will not fit into a pair of socks. Socks was the first thing my foot out Grew then it was shoes like 2 months apart in the same year and you talkin about 33 or 35 years ago. It is very very very difficult to find any Footwear including flip flops for a foot that is 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe. Even have trouble driving my car sometimes because of my foot being so wide. I have to drive my car Barefooted 👣 or any car barefooted 👣 because because my foot so wide it touches the gas and the brake pedal i the same time. That's just one of the problems I suffer with for having a very extremely extremely wide foot. I have 5 boy & all 5 of my boy have very wide foot too. Except for my third son John is foot is just like mine exactly like mine. Except he has big toes not very fat wide toe like me. But he's only 12 years old with a sz13 4 EEEE wide with big toe that are equally straight across make his foot between 4 1/2 - 5 inches wide from his big toe to his lil toe. His foot size and width is way way way too big for his age for being 12 years old. Got a huge problem man. But yeah I'm trying to find some custom shoes and socks to be made for me & my son cuz his foot just outgrew his stock last month so he's now living a Barefooted 👣 Style at the age of 12 years old. That is way young then when my foot out group shoes & sock.
