Going anticlockwise might be harder because of the very steep ascend over bare rocky ground near the end of the trail but to me much safer, at the section called The Incline. Going down such a steep slope seems more risky even though there is a long steel cable along the Incline for hand support. Best not to do this hike shortly after or when there is or prospect of heavy downpour, risk of flash floods and fast moving cold water at a number of places where the trail crosses rivers/creeks. Being able to walk behind the waterfall was breathtaking. We parked our car at end of Morris Rd, Woodlands, NSW 2575.
Note in the trail link below, there were a few times where we could not make out and went off track.
